When I go to "add local user", I don't have the option to select "folder, files, and recursive". I'm having a similar problem where ACL is only being applied to the top folder, and not recursively. I can manually add the user to each folder but I have hundreds, which would be a pain.
Thanks for the input everyone - I'm definitely going to make the top radiator an exhaust, I foolishly forgot the old axiom "heat rises"! :p
So this case is capable of having dual 200mm radiators in both the front and top, what do you guys think about that? It's significantly more surface...
Hi all,
I'm putting together my first WC setup and after hours of research, here's what I've come up with:
(all 1/2" ID barbs)
Case: NZXT H630
CPU Block: EK Supremacy w/"Naked Ivy" adapter
GPU Block: EK-FC R9-290X
Pump: Swiftech MCP35X
Radiators: 2x Swiftech MCR320-XP
Fans: 6x 1850 RPM Gentle...
I set the Asus one to auto-notify, got the email the instant it was sent on my Pre. Managed to snag one, OOS now though. Highly recommend using auto-notify, especially if you have a push-enabled smartphone.
I have a very similar system but with an Athlon X2 at 2.5 and the 3850 AGP. I noticed a HUGE performance increase going from my single core A64 system with a 6800GT (more than double). However, I think you will be severely CPU bound unless you primarily play at very high resolutions...
X-Wing Alliance was my favorite. The scenario builder was EPIC. You could re-create the final battle in Return of the Jedi (almost exactly, it's missing a few ships). Who doesn't want to blow up the shield generator of a star destroyer in an A-wing then watch it get blown to pieces by allied...
Please tell me this is only for the Xbox version and that the PC version is still coming out November 21st.
Seriously, it's the only thing I have to look forward to this month :(.
I'm pretty sure you could get over 500 in quake 3 with an 7800 gtx SLI setup with an FX57.
But who cares, no monitor can display that. And who cares about max FPS anyways? Really the only thing that is noticeable to gamers is FPS drops, not the max or even the average FPS.
My Gigabyte 6800GT will do 437/1150 with an NV5, only bad thing about the Gigabyte cards is that you can't view the temperature with the nVidia drivers, you can only monitor it with Gigabyte's own shitty software.
I've found that in most game the difference is extremely minor when...
Please tell me your last sentence is strictly on fighting dynamics or something and not on the entire game. Everyone I knew referred to Fable as "Morrowind for retards" and that was my experience as well. Please tell me that Oblivion isn't as dumbed down and bland as Fable.
Has anyone who has this case (or a similar Lian-Li model) upgraded the case fans to something that pushes a little bit more air than the stock ones? The fact that the stock fans aren't screwed to the case (they're little plastic tacks) worries me.
If so, does anyone have any fans that they...
Ok, got it down to 2.5-5-5-5, running tests now. Overall there is a very noticeable improvement in framerates, I'm quite happy.
It really is a shame about the placement of the connectors. Otherwise I think the placement on this board is quite good (ample room around the CPU, IDE/power...
Other than playing FarCry, no I haven't stability tested it. I'll be looping Prime95 overnight.
I'm still tweaking the RAM a bit, I know I can get better timings than that. By the way for those who are curious my RAM is this:

When I bought my computer, it was of course my intention to overclock all along. So you can expect my disappointment when my chip wasn't entirely stable at 2.0 GHz (It's a Winchester 3000+). I chalked it up to bad luck and went along my happy way.
But then I thought about how the board I...
Ordered, total cost was $445 with a pack of $12.95 CDs and SALES TAX (damn you Dell for having a hub in PA). Plus they charged me $7 for shipping, since I guess the CDs didn't count as "a peripheral item over $79". Still nearly Grand Larceny, considering the exact same panel is used in the...
Ok, coupon deal is back, ordering tonight.
Does anyone know offhand what the cheapest item on the Dell website is? I found the Kensington Gel Mouse Wrist Pad for $10, that seems to be cheapest. I would be awesome if there were some paper clips or something that was exactly $1 (to qualify...
I absolutely hated Black and White. I didn't mind the micromanagement much at all, but getting your creature to do anything useful was such a bore and a pain in the ass that it just aggrivated me to no end. Plus the leashes were awful, awful, awful.
Eidos is also pretty terrible. I love the Hitman series, but Contracts is a buggy piece of shit. The sound doesn't work properly (things that are close sound like they're far away, and vice versa) and there's no way to turn anti-aliasing on, even forcing it in the drivers. Even with the...
I loved the ending. I get a chill up my spine every time Alyx's voice is cut off "Hurry Gordon, we might still have...!", everything freezes, and after a bit of silence you just hear, "...Time, Dr. Freeman?".
Obsidian Entertainment is what is left of Black Isle. Obsidian is the group (formerly in Blacvk Isle) that was responsible for Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and Neverwinter Nights.
Anyone not getting great framerates? Even with AA and AF turned off I usually get mid 40's average and sometimes dips into the low 20's. Adding AA/AF doesn't effec the framerate much at all, which leads me to believe it's not a hardware issue. This is with an Athlon 64+/6800GT. I chalked it...
For some reason whenever I use Firefox my CPU utilization shoots up to nearly 100% when viewing animated GIFs. I don't have this problem in IE, with utilization near 0. Any ideas?
Specs:
Athlon 64 3000+
Epox 9NDA3+
Geforce 6800GT (66.93)
1024 MB RAM
Windows XP SP2
I still hope they keep the original speed, feel, and balance of Starcraft. That's what made it so great and why I (and many others) still play it. While Warcraft III was fun, I hope SC2 does not go the some route.
I played Asheron's Call from the november after it's release to about a year ago. I also played AO, DAoC, Eve, and none of them held my attention like AC. I anxiously await the expansion pack.
Rome: Total War, pretty complex and very good strategy.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri: Simply the best turn based strategy game ever. Very complicated, very addictive. You can probably score this for $10 now too since it's pretty old.
