At work I just received a DAT Optic eBOX-TeSUF 5 bay raid enclosure with eSata, USB, firewire thunderbolt and USB3(through included esata->USB3 adapter). We populated it with 5 4TB WD red drives and are using it in a raid 5 setup formatted for mac (Mac OS Extended (Journaled)).
Right now I...
one of my 2 2209wa's has the same issue which developed over time probably in the third year of owning it, it's the first one I bought and probably 4 years old. It also has 2 vertical lines of pixels that appear stuck for the first 10-20 minutes it is powered on then goes away. It's way out of...
DICE has no plans to implement any sort of pre-match squad lobby or party system to join a game with friends: http://www.vg247.com/2013/11/25/battlefield-4-pre-match-squad-creation-will-not-be-implemented-dice-confirms/
I've only tried to play with a friend once (he works out of town during...
Gizmodo Xbox One Review: Absolutely Amazing (When It Works)
Maybe a little ahead of it's time right now but it should evolve into a nice piece of living room hardware.
You could get some sort of 3.5mm audio switch then run a 3.5mm cable into your controller and output that way, that's probably the cheapest(ps4 controller + pc hooked into the 2 inputs, speakers hooked into the output). If you don't want a cable plugged in your controller add on an optical ->...
I'm not interested in the 2 exclusives, own a gaming PC and preordered a PS4.... f me right?
BF4 and NBA2k(already shipped). All my friends, most of which don't play PC games, are getting PS4 and BF4, gonna be fun to squad up with them. NBA will be great with friends over, I already picked up...
BF used to be a hardcore PC series for me, the only games I would play & I would try tons of mods. Of course there is no more mod support and with 64 players on PS4 which I am getting I have shifted my feelings of the franchise to a casual console gaming experience.
Used to be I would skip...
This makes sense but only for the FIFA market, they still release new fifa on PS2 because it is still a popular system in less developed countries where soccer is king.
I wouldn't go to a TN if you are used to IPS. I myself went from 2x2209WA to a super widescreen 21:9 Dell u2913wm(though I still use the 2 2209's in portrait), it's 2560x1080 so a bit less taxing than 1440p . Most games I have tried work fine with no additional tweaks/mod required. Skyrim...
I hope so. They are the first company that got me excited about a new phone to upgrade since the launch iphone 4, and I had been using iphone since the 3g launch before that.
It's a limitation of the bandwidth of the cable and hdmi 1.4 interface, not the display, overclocking matter won't if you can't send anything higher than 30hz down the cable.
Though I imagine even with 30p content being piped into it the actual refresh rate of the display is 60hz at 4k, just...
HDMI 1.4 is single cable and can only do 30fps at 4k. Other TV's rely on 4xHDMI 1.3 ports/cables for 4k so they can theoretically do 60fps with the proper source (1080p60 x4)
the ssd is supposed to be fairly easy to replace, a couple screws, unplug a battery connector and it pops out/in like ram. Other than that you can't upgrade anything else on the retina macbooks. OWC is the only one who makes an aftermarket ssd for them, at 480gb and apparently slower read...
If you wanna have some fun open up the map editor (in one of the app data folders), make a circled fenced off area, drop in a bunch of enemy ai and wild animals and create a perch to sit up and watch the mayhem.
Though the wide aspect ratio means the height of the monitor will be closer to a 22"-23" 16:10/16:9 monitor, so pixel density won't be as bad as 1080p on a 16:9 30"/29".
With your suggested resolution it should be 3360x1440 to keep the 21:9 aspect ratio, which is more of a common standard...
I've had my iPad mini since Friday and I think it's great. I'm not that concerned a out the lack of retina screen, I upgraded from a gen 1 iPad. Even though I have an iPhone 4 and a retina MacBook it still looks smoother than my pc screens or my work Cinema Display.
I ordered on a whim not...
Really? People are playing road to Rome and secret weapons of WWII still?
You'd think more would be playing vanilla because it is more common and the cheapest common denominator among people looking for the lowest cost BF experience(other than play4free).
mighty mouse, the damn scroll ball in one I had a few years ago quit(even with cleaning). I have to use one at work currently too on a mac pro and a few weeks into the job it only scrolls 1 way.
This is probably more prevalent when the new retina mbp renders the UI at the "faux" 1920x1200 setting, the GPU it is actually rendering everything at 3840x2400 and downscaling to 2880x1800. The default 1440x900 sized GUI renders at 2880x1800 and I would imagine performs a bit better.
I could see them adding a small increase in screen size(without increasing form factor) while keeping the current iphone 4/s resolution. As long as it is above 300dpi they'll be fine. I don't think they will increase resolution, especially incrementally and not doubled like stated above.
The close quarters DLC is for 2-16 players, they couldn't even be bothered to make them large enough for consoles' max player limit of 24.

I can't wait for operation shipping container. 64 players, 64 square foot battlefield, non stop clusterfu@$.
Really though I don't see myself playing a whole lot of BF3 until the autumn DLC, definitely not dropping any coin on close quarters maps. Seeing as it drops in june too I suspect they...
BF3 has all the potential in the world but it's hampered too much by poor design. I'm tired of all the crutches: 3d spotting, all the lock on weapons, sniper glints, mines/explosives always on minimap, minimap on hardcore, over-effective thermals. I'm tired of only 2 factions that don't even...
But with the MAV you can fly up to inaccessible areas and park it there so it's harder for the enemy to destroy, that's what I've been doing since I realized it works like TUGZ when parked.
So they are done rehashing AC2? Brotherhood and revelations have not seemed to be worth my time so I've been waiting on a real sequel. I found ancient Jerusalem a much more interesting setting than italy/rome so it's been cheesing me off every "new" game they release in the same...
GAWFUL was a pain when I first started the game, it worked for a a few times then the last couple times I tried to start it last week it wouldn't connect for some reason. The only thing somewhat cool is your achievements go towards your xbox gamerscore, but even so it's a bit redundant when you...
