Here's mine. I think this may be the first computer I built in full, and it was for someone else.

Why Best Buy Checks Your Receipt

My thoughts 100%. I don't shop at Best Buy anyway, and them treating their customers like criminals with the receipt check is one of many reasons why.

    The Conduit...

Quite a shame that the reviews have been so mediocre for this game. The Wii is great for the FPS genre as far as controls go, but developers are just not bothering with them for the most part. So it's bad that once we do get one like The Conduit that it gets such a "meh" reaction. I think the...

    asp.net or .PHP

As someone who has been looking for a PHP or ASP.NET job since January, my experience is that right now there are far more .NET jobs out there. I've spent the past 3-4 years doing PHP web development, but the PHP openings have been few and far between. I got a .NET 2.0 Web Applications cert in...

Good time to get a Wii?

I think your math is a little off. The console is $250 and the game bundled with Motion Plus is $60 (MSRP... it can be found a little cheaper), so it's $310. I'm not disagreeing with your list since that's most of the best stuff on the Wii, but there is so much more worth playing. And I say...

    The Conduit...

It looks pretty good, but nothing I need to run out and buy immediately. Here's the first online review I've seen of it (8.6): http://wii.ign.com/articles/996/996847p1.html The gist of the review is that it's a good (both the 5-8 hour campaign and multiplayer), if not a bit generic, FPS, but...

Good time to get a Wii?

25 may be a bit much. I have a 360, but the vast majority of my time with it has been SF IV and GoW 2. I've also played SotN and the COD4 campaign and have a couple of other games I haven't played much yet (Penny Arcade Ep. 1 and PGR4). There are a very small number of games I'm interested in...

    The Legend Zelda: Spirit Tracks

I used to get that cereal and I really liked it. I'm looking forward to Spirit Tracks less than I ever have any Zelda game. And that's saying something since the Zelda series is easily my all time favorite. I'm not too big on the train, but the part that really bugs me is that it otherwise...

    360 fighting game controller (non-joystick?)

Check out the $40 SF IV FightPad. I only tried it a little in the SSF2THDR demo, but it made a huge difference. I could pull off special moves with ease whereas I had a very low success rate with the terrible 360 d-pad. The supply of these has been spotty, but I've seen several of them in retail.

    Wii Controller on PC ???

Nonsense... if you have a bluetooth adapter, you can easily have your PC recognize the Wii remote. But you would have to look up the programs that have been written specifically for this to determine how useful it would be to you.

All IPS panels suffer from "image persistence"?

My old 2405FPW is S-PVA and has terrible image retention. Not much in the way of permanent damage, but all it takes to have issues is having something on the screen for a few minutes.

    Asus 4850 loud fan

It's an issue with SmartDoctor. No matter what you set it to, it will jump to 100% shortly after starting a 3D application. Just set it how you want and close it everytime you start the computer. It shouldn't be necessary, but it's a pretty simple fix for now.

    Castlevania simons quest II

It's hard to pick a favorite Castlevania since they're so similar, but I think I liked Circle of the Moon the best, probably due to it being a pretty hard game. I've only played the DS and GBA games as well as the original. I played Simon's Quest some back in the day though, and it had the...

Recommendation for a two-port PCI-E SATA RAID 1 capable controller card?

I have a system with an Asus P5KC board. I was planning to set up mirroring with the onboard RAID using two 150 GB Raptors, but now I'm reading that the RAID implementation is gimped and only works with one internal and one external drive. I still want to setup the mirroring, so I'd like to...

Nintendo sent me a broken wii : warranty story part 2

I had to get my Wii replaced due to video particles probably caused by an overheating GPU and I had a working replacement within a few days. The service was about as good as it gets. So many companies force you to ship back your defective part at your own cost, take their time processing it...

    Study: Online Games More Captivating

I disagree. "Captivating" isn't the word I'd use to describe online multiplayer... much more applicable for a great single player game. The online games I've played more than any other are Quake 2 and Quake 3... fun with lots of replay value, yes... captivating, not really.

How to save CVS-friendly files with Dreamweaver?

I think I finally got it figured out after messing with many of the Dreamweaver options. The default "Line break type" is "CR LF (Windows)" and changing it to "LF (Unix)" made the problem go away. Makes sense.

How to save CVS-friendly files with Dreamweaver?

I'm having a problem saving files using Dreamweaver for use with CVS. When a file is saved, no matter what has been modified, CVS diff thinks that the entire file has changed. This makes versioning useless since edits can't be tracked. I'm only using the code view in Dreamweaver and never use...

Two years after their release - which is better overall PSP or Nintendo DS?

That's funny... I'm 26 and have 18 DS/GBA games and none of them are Pokemon. And I've only had my DS for about a year and a half. The great games just keep on coming. "real gamer"... give me a break. It's all a matter of personal preference. And there is not a single game on the PSP that I...

    Halo 2 vs. UT2004

UT 2004 looks far better than Halo 2 and Halo 3 for that matter. Quake 3 (1999) would be a more balanced comparison for the Halo series in the graphics department. Both it and UT 2004 are infinitely better in gameplay though.

Northwood P4 3.0 GHz - Problems upgrading from Intel stock cooler to Scythe Ninja

I just went ahead and got a P182... this case is tremendous for a lot of reasons. Everything is much cooler now, especially under load. I couldn't deal with the heat and occasional shutdowns and I wasn't about to reinstall the stock HSF. Here's how it turned out:

MS Claims the Xbox 1 is more superior than the Wii

There's a difference though... MS is selling the 360 at a loss while Nintendo is making a profit with the Wii. If Nintendo wanted to play that game, the Wii would be a lot cheaper. But they're making a fortune the way things are, so I can't blame them for the way they're doing it. And it's...

Northwood P4 3.0 GHz - Problems upgrading from Intel stock cooler to Scythe Ninja

I've had a P4 3.0C / D865GBF combo for several years and I finally decided that I was sick of the stock HSF. It's very noisy and the temperatures get too high. I also have 80 mm fans (front intake and rear outtake) in addition to the 120 mm fan on the NeoPower 480. In hopes of having a...

What's in your 360/PS3/Wii right now?

Wii Sports is in, but I haven't played it in quite a while. I needed to get my Wii replaced and couldn't transfer my Wii Sports records, so that really soured me on getting back to playing it with my new system. I've played Punch-Out in the past few days... my first VC purchase. For my DS...

NPD March Figures (Surprised it's not posted already)

It's been pretty good for me for the six months or so I've had it. Downtime has been very minimal. I always get the advertised 384 Kbps upload and at least the advertised 6 Mbps download. Later in the night... and not that late... after, say, 8:00pm, the download speeds are very good. I just...

What games have you regretted buying?

Didn't like an Ace Attorney game... not cool. HardBall was good though... got a lot of playtime out of it and still have it. For me, I'd say Thief and Thief II. Not because they're bad games, but I've only ever gotten through one and a half levels of the first game. I like it, but so...

    Wii are the Champions?

Given the trend of lazy Wii ports, it'll probably be the inferior PS2 version with motion controls. If not, I still wouldn't expect any upgrade over the GCN's graphics. And hopefully they price it at $20, the same as the older versions.

MySpace kills internet connection and requires restarting router?

I've had a bizarre issue with MySpace. I have two computers on a network, one wired and one wireless to a Linksys WRT54GC router, and when either system is on the MySpace website for more than a minute or two, the internet connection (Comcast) effectively dies for both. I need to restart the...

    Sonic is back...!

It currently has a 76% on GameRankings, which is pretty darn good for a 3D Sonic game. It sounds like it could still use plenty of improvement, but at least it's a big step in the right direction. I think I would still prefer 2D Sonic. Sonic Rush was great and held up very well to the Genesis...
