Just load up the PC as far as you can (just before you logon). Open up regedit from another PC and go File -> Connect Network Registry and go ahead and type the pc name/ip address in. Delete what you need from there.
It is very possible if your motherobard doesnt have PCI/AGP locks. I have corrupted my OS a few times because of it. If you can go into your bios and lock your buses if it allows you (33mhz PCI, 66-67mhz for AGP)
Hes right... My X2 3800+ that i have is about 8months old or so and it hits 2.5ghz stable before i have to use an insane amount of volts. So boys consider yourselves lucky
Hi fellas,
I am currently having a few problems with my PC. Firstly it doesnt POST every time i hit the power button or restart. Usually i have to power down completely and start again and i have tried power from 2 outlets and it happens on both. I am thinking i have a dodgy PSU, what do you...
I dont think its a power issue. If i were you i'd put the nv silencer on again as it sounds as if its not getting the best contact. Take it off, see how it was and re apply paste and try again.
Drop your multiplier on the cpu, then max out your memory with a clock speed you know your cpu can handle....also use the bios default memory timings to see if it hits 250mhz
I'm still ocing my old Nf3. I have no need for a nf4 atm as i barely play any games (besides DoD and the occasional game of CS) and the only real reason i would want to goto nf4 is for a pci-e graphics card
Dont comment if you havent tried it man. In general windows seems alot faster and snappier with a dual core, dont knock it till you've tried it. Anyways with the price of a X2 3800+ ($515 AUD) i can get a single core a64 3800+ for $475AUD so i thought why the hell not spend that bit extra and OC...
Hey fellas,
I just invested in a X2 3800+ and i have rather high temps. I have an Antec SLK3700 with a 480watt true power PSU. 2 x 120mm front and rear case fans with an Arctic Freezer 64 HSF and a 92mm fan cooling my ram down. At idle on my current OC (2.4ghz @ 1.4v) my temps are around 48C...
I'd jump ship now if i were you. No use in waiting for the tech to change even more i say :P. Also i'd say u could OC that 4800+ to say 2.6ghz so even better :)
Ok fellas i just tried flashing to this bios but basically its un-useable due to it being passworded. Anyone else getting this problem or is it just me??
Cheers
I got the 3200c2 v1.5 stuff which is UTT but it needs alot of volts (3.2v) to do anything above 205-210 in my case. So to be honest with you try and find a non UTT revision of the c2 or get the 3200xl if u cant feed it 3v+
I am folding as we speak and my cpu is running at 48C and i am not worried at the slightest. :D
EDIT: I Wouldnt be worried about them temps. If you are really worried invest in a new CPU Heatsink.
SirKenin you truly are a fool if you think AMD's arent stable etc. Well i spose my AMD 1.3ghz Athlon that has had an uptime of over 140days as we speak isnt reliable. Also my desktop A64 @ 2.4ghz which isnt reliable *insert sarcasm*. Yep i am going to sell my AMD platforms for something that...
Yeh i've tweaked up my settings. 3.0v @ 233fsb with 2-2-2-7. That seems to give me the best performance because if i run @ anything higher i tend to have to run @ 2-3-2-7 and i dont really want to go past 3.2v.
