Hi, I'm trying to find an online vendor that sells bare trackpoint/pointingstick/etc eraser-style mice. The idea is that I want to integrate it into a custom keyboard. I've spent an entire day looking over the usual electronics supply sites and nothing has turned up. Does anybody have any...
Hi, does anyone have any concrete performance benchmark numbers for disks attached to SATA port multipliers? I'm wondering if there is any overhead incurred by the switching/multiplexing of the SATA protocols. If I have a SATA 6 Gbit/s controller with a port multiplier and I attach 5 disks which...
I believe you're talking about the Loongson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loongson) which has another interesting feature in that it is considered "open hardware."
Linux and the BSDs can run on it, development is ongoing.
They have ISOs for various distros that run the gamut from floppy disk size to Bluray disc size. They have varying levels of functionality.
What you need instead is a method for downloading that allows you to resume partial downloads. Bittorrent does this, wget does this, some Firefox...
Does the filename have a space at the end of it?
Try creating a new file with a space at the end by enclosing the name and space in quotes:
touch "test "
The behavior should be as you describe.
Now try without a space:
touch test2
What happens when you tab-complete this one?
I'm a Dvorak typist mainly because I mostly am at my own workstation, and I've been using it more or less exclusively for 3-4 years. If you're interested in Dvorak, check out http://mkweb.bcgsc.ca/carpalx/ and up the ante a little bit.
I did the impossible - I managed to bork my IBM Model M. I spilled a glass of water into the keys while it was plugged in, let it dry for two weeks, and tried it - the bottom row of letters has some anomalous behavior where keypresses send two characters, typically the key I press plus an...
That parameter appears in the smtpd(8) manpage, but not in the main.cf manpage. You should be fine. Read more in the smtpd manpage if you're unsure.
As far as vim syntax highlighting goes, my stock syntax .vim files are stored in /usr/share/vim/vim72/syntax on my gentoo machine. Look around for...
So if I wanted a hardware RAID array connected with eSATA or SFF-8088 I would need the RAID-enabled HBA to be installed on my host PC - that makes sense to me. That would mean that if I wanted to disconnect it and hook it up to another PC, I would need to move the HBA along with it to keep the...

As always, the HDD price checker to the rescue.
Hello, I'm shopping around to replace an aging NAS system. I like what I've been reading about eSATA (6.0Gb/s) and DAS-type setups. However, I'm unclear about some things.
I would basically like to build a small 8-disk box with hardware or software RAID, and then hook it up to a desktop PC...
Just trying it out for now, have been using it for about a week. Seems alright. I'll give it a month or two before I make a decision. They're cheap anyway.
Sometimes a simple re-add of the device will be sufficient to get the array back up. If this works, though, you may want to think about buying a new disk pronto.
Check man mdadm for more info.
We're under capacity (100Mbit line) because we're not yet an official mirror, so maybe try our mirror. We're on the Abilene network (Internet2) so if you're on that, you'll probably see some good speeds.

Call up California PC and get their 5-in-3 drive bay coolers for $25 each, includes fan and I had my choice of color when I ordered. http://www.calpc.com/
I've bought six of them this way, no complaints.
