Overall I thought Microsoft had a really good show. Some things we sort of knew, and other things came as a complete surprise. Microsoft announced 5 new developers being added to the Microsoft Game Studios fold, including Playground Games, which was rumored and makes complete sense. The...
Yesterday Microsoft announced 19 more original Xbox games are coming to the Xbox One, via backward compatibility. The best part is they are all releasing this month:
Original Xbox games arriving April 17
Blinx: The Time Sweeper
Breakdown
Conker: Live & Reloaded
The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind...
Night Dive Studios has already released remastered versions of the first two Turok games on the PC, but now they are coming to the Xbox One as well:
I played the first game, but I don't think I ever played any of the sequels.
Some pretty sweet announcements, in my opinion. I don't remember everything, so definitely chime in with anything I've missed, or just something that really grabbed your attention. Here were some of the highlights:
All future Xbox 360 Games for Gold titles will be backwards compatible...
I'll leave a link to two videos. The first one is high quality demo footage:

This second video doesn't look as good, but this one is from Gamescom, and has the commentary from the developer:

I really liked Alan Wake, so I can't wait for this. Too bad it's not coming...
Nintendo is holding their "digital event" press conference at noon EST. I think they've done this the last few years now, but I've never followed it as it happened. I'm at work right now so I'll probably just check the recap later.
Microsoft's E3 press conference kicks off at 12:30 pm EST. You can watch a live stream on xbox.com, and I believe you'll also be able to watch it via the Live Event app, on your Xbox.
Major Nelson just tweeted that the Titanfall "Expedition" DLC is out today, adding "On Xbox One say "Xbox, Bing" then "Titanfall Add-ons" to see it."

Even though we started talking about this in the other tread, involving NetFlix and Hulu no longer requiring an Xbox Live Gold account, I figured this particular topic deserved its own thread, for anybody who would miss it otherwise.
Anyway, Microsoft has announced that starting June 9th...
Microsoft is bringing a bunch of changes to the Xbox, starting June 9th. That includes an Xbox One, without the Kinect, for $399. Popular apps, like NetFlix, Hulu and HBO Go, will no longer require an Xbox Gold account. Another feature:
I recall a news article a while back about them...
Insomniac Games has released the first real gameplay footage for the upcoming Xbox One game, Sunset Overdrive. For those who don't remember, during last year's E3 event they showed off a cinematic trailer, but nothing more. So anyway, JoyStiq has an article along with the new video: Click...
An article on Destructoid has this information as well, but they added:
Now, if Ska Studios announced a remake, or sequel to "I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1," with online multiplayer, I'd be a happy man. :)
I wasn't sure if they hinted at a price before, but $20 is nice. IGN also has some gameplay footage, from TGS, but it's pretty short and it's nothing very exciting. I never bought Orta, although I had always intended to, so hopefully this game is really good.
14 years ago, today, the best gaming console* was released in North America. I don't know about you, but I will celebrate by playing a few titles tonight. I probably have around 40 titles, so I'm not sure what I'll play. Perhaps some Crazy Taxi, San Francisco Rush 2049 and maybe even an NFL2K...
Leading up to Gamescome, Microsoft has updated it's Xbox One game lineup, and has 50 games announced as of today:
I made the Xbox one exclusives/timed exclusives red, because it was a little hard to distinguish when they were just bold.
I figured I'd create separate Gamescom threads, for the PS4 and Xbox One, which should have plenty of new information being released in the coming days. To kick things off (and this is no real surprise), Sony will be announcing specific launch details tomorrow:
Via JoyStiq:
I figured this would have been the case, but it's about time they came out and confirmed this particular issue. This should have been a thing, and talked about right from the get-go, to get as many indie developers as possible on board.
If you follow Major Nelson on twitter, then odds are you saw this. For those who don't:
There's a couple titles I'm interested in, so hopefully the sale prices are pretty decent.
I just saw Major Nelson report this, so I figured I'd share. There's a sale on Sega games, over on XBL. Some games are up to 67% off. For example, Crazy Taxi, Jet Grind Radio and NiGHTs Into Dreams are $5, and Sonic Adventure is $2 bucks. There's a pretty long list: Click Here
I read this article on JoyStiq and figured I'd share. You have to pay with Microsoft Points, and not your credit card, but I was able to get it to work. I haven't actually downloaded it yet, since I haven't fired up my 360, but I better do that now just in case this is some sort of glitch.
Earlier this week I finally decided to upgrade to the world of SSDs, by replacing my 320 WD Blue HDD with a 128 GB Samsung 840 Pro. I have a slight problem, however, involving my SilverStone FT01 case and the SilverStone CP05 hot-swap connectors. Since I have two hard-drives in my system (one...
The article mentions that some of the new 21 inch iMacs have "Assembled in the USA" on them (which I hadn't heard before), so perhaps in 2013 all the iMacs will be built in the US. Obviously there's quite a difference between being made in, and assembled in the USA, but I think this is good news.
I'm not sure when this one was announced, but I only found out about it over the weekend. They've basically taken some classic levels from the first two Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games, kept that original gameplay, but did a complete graphics overhaul, and created a reboot for both XBLA and PSN...
I just learned of this Indie Game the other day, and I'm curious if anybody has purchased it. It's only 80 MS point ($1.00), and although from what I've read it's extremely short, the premise alone makes me want to support this developer.
Basically the game pokes fun at the current trend of...
I got this from a different message board, and thought I'd share. There's a few things I already know I'll pickup:
Gears of War 3 beta dates:
April 18: Bulletstorm purchasers gain entry
April 25: GameStop pre-orderers gain entry
May 15: Beta period ends
Sales & Specials:
April 15...
I'm about to order components for a new desktop build, and will most likely get Home Premium for this new system (I already have W7:HP on a Netbook) However, I see that the "Upgrade and Restore" feature for Windows 7 Pro lets you backup to devices on a home or business network. I'm just...
Quite a while back I did something (I think filled out a form/survey) to get a free token for the XBLA game "South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!" It unlocks "two bonus challenge levels" but I never did buy the full game, and I forgot about the email and while cleaning out my inbox I came...
During Microsoft's press conference they mentioned the new Beast Mode for Gears 3, but afterwards I heard no other details, and needless to say I was pretty interested, since I really like Horde on Gears of War 2. Anyway, Joystiq has a new preview article for this new online game mode. It...
So here's the situation. My Grandmother let me borrow a cassette tape she had of my deceased Grandfather signing and playing the guitar (he was in band quite a while back). I had hooked a cassette player up to my MBP using a plain old male/male headphone cable, and recorded the audio using...
Since I have Adobe Photoshop CS3 I also have Bridge installed on my computer. Bridge has a pretty nice batch rename tool that is fairly customizable. I set it up and use it to rename my photos and make use of the timestamp from the EXIF metadata. The way I have it work is it does...
I saw this on Engadget, and after updating my Zune Software I was able to confirm for myself that this particular file does mention three different "Phone" labeled devices in the list:
...and then further down in the file:
As somebody who is a VERY happy Zune HD owner, and also looking...
Has anybody purchased this one yet? I unfortunately won't be able to until this weekend, but I'm just wondering if any others have checked it out, and what they thought of it. Four player online co-op sounds good, though it sounds like you can play with more people on the PC version.
If you missed the Spike TV Video Game Awards, which I hope was most of us :) then you missed the first official trailer for Reach. Bungie has the video up on their site, in a couple different versions (Click Here), including 720p versions in WMV and QuickTime. I guess GameTrailers states it as...
I forgot it in the title, but obviously this is for the Xbox 360. I think with previous rumors it was expected that Nov. 17th would be the date. It's cool that it's finally coming though. I'm not sure how much I'll use the Facebook App, but I'm interested to see how the Zune Video stuff is.
Back during E3 I think a lot of us figured, or were hoping for a below $100 price, with the exception of one particular posted ;) Anyway, this is just rumor, but a $50 price tag would be pretty good. Hopefully there's some interesting games that put the tech to good use.
