I'm in the market for a decently priced 16x DL DVD +/- R... I've narrowed it down to either the Lite-On SOHW-1633S or the NEC ND-3500A .
I've been doing a lot of reading on these two and they both seem like good choices... which is why I can't decide between them! What do you think...
I think FarCry was the hardest FPS that I ever played but after overcoming my initial jitters with it it was also one of the most fun.
My only real problem with it was that god-aweful save game system...
I dunno, it seems to me like open Wi-Fi wouldn't necessarily provide that much more privacy than using an anonymous proxy but maybe I'm missing something.
Also some stores (I think WalMart did at one point) have pre-paid internet cards that (according to my understanding, I never actually...
I've been pretty happy with my Canon A70... Grab a little noise reduction software and that puppy will produce images that look like they came from a much more expensive camera.
One piece of advice though... be sure to get a screen protector for the LCD... the plastic they use on it isn't...
I had the same problem with the GeForce3 I use on my office computer... it seriously made me angry until I discovered Media Player Classic, since then I've had no problems because it doesn't check for macrovision. (Or you can decrypt it to your HD with DVDecrypter or a similar program)...
lol!
Personally I'm fairly happy with 45+... can I tell the difference between it and 60... well yes, but it just isn't that big of a deal for me... I'd rather run the game with more visual candy on a cheaper system than have the extra smoothness.
The RAM was toasted (as in it had some scorch marks on it!) and the CPU was dead as was the graphics card (not that that was a great loss).
I tossed the optical drive (an old DVD-ROM) because I figured it was dead as well. Amazingly the hard-drive survived which was good because the only...
All right if you insist. :)
So my old roommate was one of those programmer types who never had anything to do with hardware but for some reason felt supremely confident with it.
Anyway, one of our friends brought a computer that was refusing to POST by our room for a quick diagnostic. I...
Welll it really depends on what you are looking for in your PSU... Do you want a silent one? Do you want a robust one? Do you want an attractive one with fancy bells and whistles?
My stand-by recommendation for cheap PSUs is this one...
I mostly agree with what has been said... Especially that it is best to consider PSU's based on the specific model, not by manufacturer. For example, an Enermax that I got bundled with a cheap Enermax case caused me all sorts of problems that were remedied when I replaced it with a medium-range...
'llo all,
After taking far too much time off of modding (last time I did any modding, cutting your own window was still [h]ardcore), I've decided to do a simple mod on an old Enermax CS-003 that houses my day-to-day office computer.
I've always liked the simplicity of this case's design...
Neat find... Useless to most people but neat none-the-less. If someone found a broken one for cheap I could see it being used in some pretty cool retro-mods.
Speedfan is the only one that I can think of that has any real value.
Personally I always prefered MBM due to its easy integration with other programs and simple interface. Oh well...
That's really too bad. Ah well.
In the long run it might be a good thing though... MBM has ruled the roost for so long that I've seen few other (except for speedfan) attempts at making a comprehensive 3rd party hardware monitoring program. The sad demise of MBM may speed some new development...
Yeah, it really irritates me when great forum's use that horrid single-reply format. Back when I was into DIY audio equipment, one of the best forums on the web used that format and I could never get used to it.
Dpreview is great... but the single-reply format drives me absolutely INSANE.
Photo.net is also great. The community there is very serious and professional. They really know their stuff but, from what I've seen, are suprisingly helpful to newbies.
Haven't looked at fredmiranda before...
2nd from the bottom is great... definitely something to be proud of! I love your use of curves Several of the others are very impressive as well.
Your white balance is a bit off making your color pictures appear a bit over-warm. Some people actually like that effect in a long-exposure (for...
Jeez... can we just burry this and move on guys. Some people like the D70 others like the DR... everyone's opinions and the reasons for those opinions are known already.
So lets just stop baiting each other and wasting forum space. Or at least can we start dealing with this in a less...
Most people agree that it is better to install individually... That said, when I re-did my main system a while back I installed the KLite package and have been pretty happy with it. No real problems.
hehehe not that hard to find what's WRONG with the photo... just hard to figure out what looks photo-chopped.
Ugh... the saturation on that Wal-Mart sign is making my eyes bleed. But note that all the reds in the image look like they are radioactive.
Hello everyone,
While I'm procrastinating on my Politics Thesis, I thought I'd show everyone a method that I came up with for quickly and easily making pictures with a deep depth of field (DOF) appear to have a shallow depth of field.
This is useful in two main cases:
1) If there is a...
It's no all that well done of a picture that's for sure... but I'm not sure if it is chopped. Looks to me like its just a screwy exposure....
Bad picture though... real bad.
Anyway, I am impressed with everyones moon shots... I've always had a bit of a hard time with them. The composition on mine just never feels right. The moon always seems to totally out-weigh (or out-shine if you will) the other components of the picture making it feel off a...
lol. I hear that, my camera freaks out whenever i push the ISO up much... ah well. Neat Image rules, most definitely.
Really that low of an exposure? Somehow it looked like it had the bluring effect of say a 2 or 3 second one.
Hey Mr. Baz... you use neat image to reduce that noise or...
Well there is one way.... PhotoShop. Seriously, I've turned a few impromptu, background sharp pictures of people into portraits in PS through some strategic useage of the blur tools and a bit of creative layer masking with decent results.
Anyway, I know you've tried it before but you may...
Hmmm... The thing is that the mouse itself doesn't make you better at games itself but if you are using a lousy mouse then it may be dampening down your skill a bit. Personally, I've never found that my mouse choice made all that much difference in games (except for the ball to optical switch...
lol
Some how I don't like the composition as well as on the first one... Elements seem a bit off of balance.
BTW, roy, liked your moon shot as well. I'll have to look at the EXIFs later because I'd like to see how long of an exposure it was. It really created an interesting effect...
I use the mouse that used to come with the logitech wired combo and it suits me just fine. Could be a bit more accurate for games but considering I find at most 2-3 hours a week to play these days, it isn't a biggie. Besides that, for some reason it seems to work really great for image editing...
ATX will still be around for my next upgrade cycle (end of this year) and that's all I care about.
Seriously, I think it is premature to worry much about BTX.
A) Even if everything goes according to Intel's evil empire plans, we've still got a year before no new technology is being...
Nope.... Been using my logitech on a tile desk for two years now and there is just a bit of wear on the feet... still feels as smooth as the day I bought it though.
While we are on the topic, how fast would you need to the water flowing again (or shut down the PC) after a pump failure? Obviously the water will take a little while to heat and some of the heat should be dissipated away from the waterblock and towards the reservoir...
