1st heatsink was the Ice Giant
2nd heatsink was Arctic Liquid Freezer 280mm - Ice Giant actually did better than Arctic for me, but Arctic was way quieter. Also lapped the CPU down to copper.
3rd custom loop with Optimus Signature, alpha cool 240mm

Needs to use something other than SSH, machine is on the other side of the planet with 250ms of latency. SSH is just too slow. Needs to be able to resume files. I wont be doing VPN, already tested cisco asa VPN and got 300kb/s over SMB. sftp 700kb/sec. Over HTTP without VPN I got 2mbytes/sec. I...
So I know people are looking for these cases, rather than trashing em, giving them away to a good home.
Southern California, 92336, 210 / Cedar exit. PM me.
I'm only available till Friday 20th, if not gone by then, after Feb 2nd.
(21st - 1st going to be out of the country on vacation)
No real issues to speak of other than, don't turn on expo until you update the bios.
Runs fine with only one 8pin connected up top, but I'm not overclocking other than to say everything is at default with expo turn on.
VRM heatsink gets quite hot; Since I'm currently running commando, I laid a...
I'm not willing to part it out or ship it, so ya have to come to me. Area code 92336.
This used to be my daily rig, was fully water cooled, but now the cpu is on air. I have since went to a laptop as my needs have become more mobile.
It was rebuilt for my brother but he has lost his job, so now...
I have older ipad & new iphone, using the lightning adapter it drops frames, has lag, and the picture has artifacts. Frame drop issue is the main reason I don't use it. I have apple TVs everywhere, but this doesn't work out so well when traveling.
Does the USB C stuff have the same issues?

So I've been running my own email for a few years (exchange 2010). It's EOL and I really don't want to do it anymore.
I only have like 5 addresses I have to take care of. Office365 Family so far looks to be one of the cheapest options @ $99/year.
Only features needed is contact list/email sync...
Raid card #1: 9260-16i
$150 - Comes with battery kit, I wouldn't expect the battery to still be good, it's been sitting for at least 5 years (was good when I pulled it).
Raid card #2: rs2bl040 which is an intel rebrand of a LSI 9240-4i
$40 - I believe the fan to be noisy, card never had heat...
I know GN did it; Has any one here done it?
Googled without luck for before/after numbers.
I just did the ECP30 trick to mine & now I'm strait up thermal limited at 4.2ghz all core on my 3960X with custom loop.
Just thought I would put this out there for those looking for speed on the cheap, most items ebay of course.
Here is a list of compatible parts:

Ebay 40gbit network cards $43 search: 79DJ3 Mellanox ConnectX-3

My assumption, no availability day one.

I'm very happy with what I have now, but I want faster. The app(s) I use are not numa aware so, it's technically single numa node limited, but I must have 2 numa nodes anyways. I have seen load as high as 70% with normal background tasks, and it's great to be able to game while my other app(s) run.
So playing with Horizon looking for cheap pc just to toss ubuntu on it with horizon client. Anyone see any issues using $120 mini pc? This more than enough to handle blast protocol and vid decoding? This one is also going over wifi; anyone seen something under $150 with 802.11ac?
This one (over...
Anyone here ever run into an issue of a pump being too small? (on a single cpu / single vid loop)
Had the idea of cutting off the rad from a hybrid cooler (example: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 GAMING HYBRID) and adding 4 x 120mm rad and cpu block to it.
Don't really care much about anything else, tho I would like to be able to use google maps.
Right now Elephone soldier is the only thing I know about in my price range; It's just a bit excessive on its size.
Suggestions please.

I have a bunch of routers talking, everything is good except for the default route.

I have a dayton/parts express 12 and its just not cutting the mustard for the room.
Low volume its fine, but it will go from sounding fine to strait up buzzing once something happens that's too loud (like t-rex foot steps in Jurassic park). Room is like 30x18 kinda open concept home.

I have two internet connections. One for servers one for home. I tested multiple context mode, but the no remote client VPNs was a deal breaker. So I'm back in single mode with everything working except I can't access my servers from the 'inside' interface.

Looking for suggestions on a simple to use network testing application.

Does you switch have the ability to shutdown/turn off ports?
My 1810 doesn't seem to have that option (non poe), and I'm looking to buy a poe switch that can shutdown individual ports.
Does there exist a gigabit switch with route path monitoring (like ip sla under cisco or NQA under HP) that is fanless or at least very quiet?
Ether that or a router that can do at least 500mbit (no NAT, just simple route failover) that's also fanless or very quiet.
Anyone suggest a PBX (vm) with easy to use GUI, pref something that offers paid support.
If its 100% pay, needs to have a demo download, and it needs to be SIP.
I need to get a demo going before my company (employee owned) goes and wastes thousands of dollars on something that's really not...
I only know cisco (self taught)... but my company has grown past whats "cheap" at cisco.
If it comes right down to it, will likely end up with a cisco 2951.
Anyways our needs have grown to routing at above 100mbit (can push a gig, but don't need to).
Needs are: QoS, BGP, MPLS? not sure here...
Can anyone suggest one? Hopefully cheap. Will be connecting to a cisco pix.
Thinking about dd-wrt netgear 6300v2, but I really rather have something with stock firmware.

Just thought I would do a bit of shameless advertising, it's free to play, and currently has maybe 200 active players. Shouldn't be like the other SWG servers, this one should keep player data. If anyone remembers the old days of SWG, this will be a very slow game...
I use ceton here on my fios, but I'm thinking about having a place in (somewhat) rural asia. From what I gather, there's a lot of free channels up there and these new cards work with the small dishes. So I can put up like maybe 4 dishes. Just wondering if anyone here has used one of these and if...

Backup route asa/vpn:

Is there any free software for windows that runs hidden, makes a connection to my server (not a monthly paid service), that doesn't set off antivirus? I want to put software on my laptop that if stolen I can track it down, activate webcam ect.
