Sooooo I was playing CS, alt-tabbed, and the computer beeped and reset. After flashing the screen for my RAID setup thing, I got the message saying that ntldr is missing. I went into the BIOS and checked around and things seemed to be wrong. Instead of having the RAID be the bootable add-in...
i just thought of something
i recently flashed the bios on my video card to a newer verison. if there was an error during flashing, could one function of the gpu be rendered inoperable? this does seem like a problem with my video card and not the drivers or the game. would you guys...

when i reinstalled, i installed off a different set of cds and redownloaded all patches
and i do have a thread going in the WoW tech support but so far it hasnt been helpful
thanks for the heads up, i will do this from now on
edit: and the problem isnt...
i have the latest chipset (i865) drivers from abit
i didnt use a driver cleaner before 81.94, but i never do and ive never had any problems before this

i didnt see any weirdness in the nvidia settings either
The stuff in the distance is always messed up looking. Its either all black or all white not faded out like i assume its supposed to.

yup, uninstalled and reinstalled steam and still no luck
"Steam is not currently connected to the authentication servers. This may be caused by a problem with your router or firewall.
Troubleshoot my connection"
no, but i that seems kinda extreme seeing as i have every game i bought (silver pack) installed. could i just back up the games i have saves on and redownload the rest?
Whenever I try to connect to a multiplayer game using Steam (CS:S, HL2DM, etc.) I get the "Connection failed after 4 tries" error. This problem started two days ago (everything worked perfectly prior to two days ago) and I haven't been able to connect since. The server browser works fine, and...
I first noticed this when doing some programming in java with Eclipse, but it happens whenever something java is running like yahoo games.

but...but...$180!??!?! I understand that it is better (when its that expensive it better be better), but playing my GC is the only reason I need a product like this. I was intending to get an HDTV tuner anyway, and if the s-video quality is good through that, that is what I'll be doing. If...
aren't vga and component basically the same idea? (red, green, and blue each on a differnt wire for maximum picture quality) if so, why is it so hard to convert one to the other, and why have different standards in the first place?
i found this site and it looks like capture cards with...
All the pci tv tuners listed on newegg have composite and s-video inputs. Would the s-video on the tv tuner look any better than the s-video -> vga box that i have now? Spending the money for an HD tuner is ok as I was about getting one. Are there any with Component in?
This is what I need: Component Video to VGA converter that can do interlaced and progressive scan. I don't understand why all this stuff has to be so hard. Help....me.....
edit: Like this, but cheaper.
I want to connect my GC to my Samsung 710T (17 inch 12 ms). It only has VGA and DVI inputs so I have to use a converter. Does anyone have experience with a Component to VGA or DVI converter? Lik-Sang has this which looks good but some of the reviews say that it won't work with non-progressive...
Exactly what I plan on doing. :)
Since my original posts I decided to use Crucial ram because its guaranteed.
Between the arguements of BMR and heero, I think heero's is more in tune with what i need. Since this computer is for storing files (movies, songs, and such), the read time for a...
