Well, only LG and Panasonic make new IPS 4k TVs. I have an LG, but it has perceivable lag, so I cannot recommend it. Other than lag it's ok.. I had a new Samsung, but couldn't bare the terrible viewing angles, so I'm better off with this Lg.. I will tolerate the lag until next years' models come...

Why don't you sell these 2 290x's and buy 980Ti ? 30Hz is absolutely horrible.. I am in the similar predicament, waiting for 980 to arrive, and I currently rather use 1080p@60Hz than 4k@30Hz..

But apparently those cards don't support hdmi 2.0... Not even Fury, for Gawd's sake.. So if you've been waiting to upgrade your GPU for one of these Samsungs, I guess you are out of luck. If confirmed, that is!

UF671, which is same as UF675, just with different stand. Same as UF6700 US model.. It states in a manual it supports 4:4:4 4k@60, and some other guys confirmed it, but for UF 77XX models.. So I'm ~98% certain it supports it. :rolleyes:

That is exactly what I'm getting.. But I manged to solve this problem almost completely. Go to menu/picture/advanced settings/white balance/2 point and set R-Gain to -50 Try if it helps.

Got my 40JU6500 today, but unfortunately I only have 280x card, so I'm limited to 4k@30Hz which is atrocious and totally not usable... But the thing is, it does not allow me even 1440p@60Hz.. What's up with that? Anyone know? It only allows me 1440p@30Hz.. So right now I'm stuck with 1080p@60Hz.

Buy something like Silverstone arm + vesa 200x200 adapter and you will be able to lower the screen so that it'll be touching the desk.

I never used it either, but I read the nuisances with SLI are pretty minor these days, and should be even more perfected under DX12. As for the cards, 2x970 will certainly be faster than single 980ti and even faster than Titan X - and even more so if DX12 delivers stacked memory.

Really depends on the game and the frame rate.. If you are happy with ~30 fps, then perhaps yes..But generally one GTX 970 comes a bit short..Those more demanding games you will probably have to play on minimum settings, I imagine - especially if you want 60 fps. That's easy.. 4k wins every day...

Again, availability. And you must search the market more broadly. :) I can get UE40JU6472 for 860€ here, which is just another design variation from 6450... Anyway, just grab 6450 if you want a flat version, and 6550 if you want a curved one.. You almost certainly won't benefit anything...

7090 has 3D, more Hz, maybe twin tuner and perhaps some other TV related bonuses, none of which you will probably need when using as monitor. And the real difference is not 400€,, This is just the case due to availability, because these TVs has just come out recently and prices hasn't...

@ironcross13 6900 is a 2014 model, which is no good! Does not support 4:4:4! Go with JU65XX, which are curved models in Europe, or JU64XX, which are flat.

@greyx, have you considered going for 40UF675V instead? It is a basic 4k model without 3D, smart and other nonsense, which you do not need when using as a monitor... But still has IPS panel, if my findings are correct.. And as you can see it's dirt cheap, since you are not paying for that...

I think you guys are sometimes forgetting that we are talking about monitors.... Monitors are meant to be smaller, and closer to your eyes.. To me, as soon as you start pushing your monitor further away from you, this represents a point where your screen is too big...Because what's the point...
