my card is not a new revision of the lightning! it's the first released ;)
to hit 1100mhz i only add spacers in order to improve gpu contact!
Techpowerup reported this issue...
no pb to clock mine! all on air
my lightning only needs 1.174v to hit 1000/1350
and 1.299v to hit 1100/1350:
the only thing needed: spacers for perfect gpu contact with the heatsink
just a 120mm blowing over the vrm, that's all! & gpu fans @80%
otherwise nothing changed on my V1 blowers...those gigabyte & asus cards do not dissipate
much heat compared to my sapphire 5770 V1 which clocks higher & runs up to 68°C max ...
Not as good as V2 but no issue to clock my V1 cards in xfire on a JR P45 with 2 narrows pcie slots...
both@1010/1275 [email protected]: max temp for the upper card 58°C 54° for the lower:

pairing 2 hd5770 is somewhat not a ridiculous idea to consider:

i agree with Garrett!
msi afterburner rocks...less heavy in particular, works with all reference hd5770 cards & does not need to flash the video card!!!!!

thxs garrett_wu & unwinder!
this soft works great with generic hd5770!
It even works flawlessly under xp while for some reason smartdoctor is ineffective even if flashes w/ asus bios!!!;)
Even though not a card for high rez which explain its unsuccess among a wide range of people,
This card works perfectly up to 1680x1050!
40nm really helps for oc & once flashed w/asus eah5770 bios : nice improvement indeed! :)
A good low end card...
Just received the bios of the asus EAH5770 from my pal ZoLKoRn! Thx you my friend! :)
(he did even more: bios of the asus eah5850 &5870 but this last one is already available...)
Sonda5, i don't think that flashing an hd4770 with an HD5770 bios is a good idea...This will be solded by a...
Very nice review Brent! :)
This card is perfect for an HTPC:very efficient blower heatsink, low power consumption, low heat dissipation, short length , good ocing potential & works great up to 1680x1050....And the price will drop soon!
What else...
My pal ZoLKoRn will send me the asus bios so that i can push further my sapphire HD5770...
but right now:
one more little bump w/ vgpu@stock
1010/1350
back to XP:
@1010/1350 vgpu @stock
It will be done! Don't worry...:D (simply look at my other cards : i used vantage under vista &/or 3d06 under xp)
3d06 is not outdate for guys like me who do not dislike bench its graphic cards...
One other excellent test from our PAL Zolkorn!

german tests are like german cars...
I know the horse power of my hd4890 (Apparently you did not see my hd4890@1000/1200???) but the hd5770 w/voltage tweak mod is quite sufficient for my EIZO 20"...
for the other similar posts:
20" EIZO LCD so 1680x1050 RIGHT???
limited by what , i also have a powerfull hd4890 but too power hungry & useless for my 20" by now...
READ correctly, I'm using high end 20" EIZO LCD: no bottleneck at this resolution...
I never ignore that the 128bit bus is a limiting factor for higher rez...Don't make me say what i did not! ;)
Quiet???
Was just sleeping here in Europe...:D
Reality, Yes I have most recent ATI card in hand : HD4830/4850/4890... & those 128 bits bus limited bandwith cards & I don't know why i should complain of the hd5770 which performs like a charm for the max resolution used by my EIZO LCD...
Here for a while! let me laugh....
Insulting people with ease let me think you are a litlle child (gay we are???... )
I'm too old for you boy for sure...

"Overclocking
We had mixed results with the two Radeon HD 5770 cards. On the PowerColor card, we could only manage a conservative 900MHz at the core and 5200 MHz DDR at the memory...
