that is a terrible idea. Look at Creative Labs (a monopoly in the sound industry), you think their current 3d sound technology is good, but it's lacking in some major areas, and there is little or no incentive to make a better sound card. Competition is the only thing that drives innovation...

fyi, i was using AS2 in my 6800GT for 2 weeks (this is in a shuttle SFF) and got 82-83 in the light demo after 1 hour. I swapped in Shin Etsu G751 tonight (gpu and memory). I heard it takes 50-100 hours to cure and really see the difference. Anyway the room temp is the same as last night (70f)...

how come noone thinks that BFG not keeping stock for RMA's is lame? I keep hearing about this 'great' support they have, but that is very weak that they don't have supply for these kinds of issues. eVga keeps stock of cards for RMA's. it's only a 1 year warranty, but still nice to know you...

There is NO solid evidence of this anywhere that ATI wins HL2. There is an alpha floating around showing the X800 PE and 6800U @ same FPS @ 1600x1200. that's all there is to go by for now.

good call. I like the ATI fan's who claim the X800 will 'own' HL2 when there is zero evidence except the Alpha tests showing the PE and U tied @ 1600x1200.

err.. where is the evidence of this? There are just rumors of it entering to beta, then there will be RC's, then gold, then production. Somehow I doubt this is happening in the next few weeks. There is also little evidence that ATI supplies will 'ramp up' anytime in the next 3-4 weeks...
