I'm in a dorm room, I have my main PC and the laptop that I take to classes. Both go into a router which goes into the wall jack, so they both have internet access. I'm worried about Murphy's law catching up to me now in my Senior year, I haven't really had any huge problems with losing data...
I believe some linksys AP's can be flashed with a homebrewed type bios that will give you a bunch more functionality, including upping it's wireless power. I don't really have any info about it though....hm..to google...
I have an Acer Aspire 2010 and I believe all I have to do is unscrew a plate on the bottom of the laptop to access the HD, shouldn't bee too difficult to service...that model might work the same way. Check pictures online if you can, newegg.com might have more detailed images.
That sounds like an older laptop...laptops nowadays are designed so that they can be more easily accessable, at least for the parts that you might be likely to change (ram and hard drive mainly). On my acer, there's a plate on the bottom I should be able to pop off and take a look right at the...
I turned on my Acer Aspire 2010 this morning at work, and as windows was pretty much loaded, I picked it up and was moving it to the desk as I noticed some form of blue screen of death, and it restarted. On restarting, it kept saying there was no bootable cd-rom in the drive, which was normal...
I would definitely like to hear more. Does it just own it in size, quality, or just overall? It's hard to tell how the size is on that bag, so I think we need some picspicspics! With a laptop in there if available...it does look like a nice bag though from the stock pics on their site.
I got an acer for my Senior year at college here, and I'm loving having it, but I treat it really well. I have an old old ibm 701c that's gotta be slmot 10 years old that still runs fine. Realy depends what you need it for...but if you want to do any kind of real gaming, get the Acer...
I'd be very interested to hear this comparison, because I've been looking at both as well. The Swiss Army "Synergy" bag looks like it could hold my Acer 15.4" nicely, with all that padding on the back to keep the laptop from crashing into my spine. But, I did hear good things about Booq bags...
Sounds very close to the Acer laptop I just purchased a few weeks ago after a year or two of waffling about what kind to get. It just seemed very well-rounded and capable in everything, while staying quite cheap compared to everything else out there. Looks like that exact model isn't on newegg...
Awesome battery life too!
Well, here is the product link at dell for that laptop, which lists the weight at 4.68 pounds, but it might be more if you have 2 batteries in there, but that's not really heavy. I'd say that's around average. Definitely a great deal with that kind of battery...
Heh, kinda looks like my setup as well. I purchased an IBM 701c a few years ago on eBay for about $150, and have used it the past few years by my side in the dorm room next to my main pc, I would just leave it on for weeks and have it run AIM and mIRC. Wouldn't ever crash, would just get a...
