This image has been floating around today. No Man's Skyrim.... Meh. Was not impressed or excited at all, sadly.
finally some gameplay footage!...looks like Fallout in space combined with No Man's Sky...I don't trust Bethesda with creating 1000+ planets...looks like it'll get old fast after exploring the first 50 or so planets...Bethesda needs to innovate the gameplay versus copying the Elder Scrolls/Fallout formula
combat looks pretty basic and graphics don't look all that great...the quality of the quests will make or break this game...
Starfield: Official Gameplay Reveal
Star Citizen fanboysLooks like it will be Chore Simulator: Space Edition. Lots of collecting crap, barren worlds with no real content and the like. They showed off holding a button to make a piece of rock fall off a big rock. Who finds that stuff fun?

I expect they are clenching hard now, because Starfield seems to actually be what Star Citizen has been promising for 10 years. Copium will be in high demand in the Star Citizen circles.
I also laughed when they said that Bethesda defined the RPG genre. At the start of the show when they said they were going to show the most anticipated RPG in the last decade, I thought it was going to be Elder Scrolls 6, not Starfield. I did however think the Starfield presentation was pretty good other than the gun combat (no bullet impact on enemies) and the NPC that looked lifeless when they were trying to show off NPCs. The ship combat looks like it could be fun, but likely will get boring quickly unless they have more types of attacks and maneuvers. Personally I hope it doesn't have a voiced protagonist otherwise I will probably skip the game, Fallout 4's voiced protagonists worked against its replayability.

Starfield looks cool to me, and I really love the ship building aspect. Sure looked like they were flying with a mouse, though, which is a bit of a red flag for those (like me) who hoped it would dip its toes just enough into the space sim category to satisfy us. And of course I'd love VR support but I doubt that'll be a thing.
And there goes my excitement out the window...
The original X-Wing and Tie Fighter were also playable with a mouse, still they were some of the best games ever, esp. Tie Fighter.Well this won't be sim like at all. It is a mass market appeal RPG, with consoles in mind. So it has to be designed around mouse and gamepad controls. I expect it to be very basic.

That can very well be true. I'm just saying this game is designed for mass appeal on common input devices, so it won't be sim like. Doesn't mean it will be bad. Just simplistic. I think expecting a niche game that requires a HOTAS from a major AAA studio, especially for a game where you'll spend more time on foot is an unrealistic expectation.
And to be honest, going from a HOTAS to a mouse/keyboard and back and fourth in a single game would be a bit hectic. I can manage with an Xbox controller for driving in some games like GTA or Mafia Remake. But a HOTAS? Doubtful.
More like made them playable in the 1st place as well as making them betterCan't wait for this game to be modded. Mods always made Bethesda games 10 x better.
Good, for a generic hero I prefer that. Not for something like Spider-Man or another known quantity in a game, but for one like this i do.
I mean to be honest, I don't see a problem. Skyrim was a great game with tons of replayability, yeah its a bit of a meme now, but only because it had so much staying power and was re-released on every electronic device for over a decade.
Just play with a controller so you don't have to switch back-and-forth. It's not like the combat is gonna be good enough to require precision with a mouse.
I just can't do FPS, or even third person shooters, with a controller.
So ruin the game, then cheat to make it playable anyway, no thanks.I'd imagine they'd offer some sort of aim assist in the control options although maybe that's asking too much of them
I can mold my toilet dump into a sculpture of David. I will still call said dump the shit that it is.Everyone always bitches when a new Bethesda game comes out...
Waa, "I'm not impressed", Waaah "Its Skyrim / Fallout in Space!" Ect....
Take a moment and realize that these types of games are a wet canvas, with modding you can make it anything you want. If you want to. I could nitpick at the game, sure. But I had no part in its development. So why bother?
