Computer cables are either too long or too short, never just right. Ordered a couple of SAS breakout cables. Thought 1.6 foot was long enough. Nope, they're about 2 inches too short. Now I gotta order the 3 foot versions which will be too long. Why Lord, why? :(

they don't have 24" versions?

imperial measurements...muhaahahahahahahah.

Well, it makes sense financially to put out 1 too short and 1 too long.
Also, we're the niche case with cases larger than some server cabinets

Measure twice, order once.
This is similar to an old carpenter's quote, from way back, except there it is "measure twice, cut once" :)
Better too long then short.

That's what she said :ROFLMAO:
Or in other words, betta to have it & not need it, as opposed to needing it & not having it :D

As to what she said, well:

A) She is biased
B) What she really meant was "more is always betta"

imperial measurements...muhaahahahahahahah.

Curious so I looked it up, and we can blame the British.

The basic concept of the mile originated in Roman times. The Romans used a unit of distance called the mille passum, which literally translated into “a thousand paces.” Because each pace was considered to be five Roman feet—which were a bit shorter than our modern feet—the mile ended up being 5000 Roman feet, or roughly 4850 of our modern feet.

If the mile originated with 5000 Roman feet, how did we end up with a mile that is 5280 feet? Blame the furlong. The furlong wasn’t always just an arcane unit of measure that horseracing fans gabbed about; it once had significance as the length of the furrow a team of oxen could plow in a day. In 1592, the English Parliament set about determining the length of the mile and decided that each one should be made up of eight furlongs. As a furlong was 660 feet, we ended up with a 5280-foot mile.
