Frame-rate jumpy, 120hz, microstutter?

Try FRAPS's frametime logging.

Just ran some tests. Not sure how to interpret the output. Here it some of it:

Frame, Time (ms)
1, 0.000
2, 18.036
3, 31.925
4, 52.763
5, 66.647
6, 80.539
7, 101.374
8, 115.263
9, 129.152
10, 149.985
11, 163.875
12, 184.704
13, 198.596
14, 212.480
15, 233.317
16, 247.206
17, 254.146
18, 261.092
19, 268.039
20, 274.984
21, 281.931
22, 295.814
23, 316.651
24, 330.540
25, 351.369
26, 365.262
27, 379.152
28, 399.984
29, 413.872
30, 434.704

Then I ran the FPS test, it looks like both Crusader Kings 2 and the Blur test program are doing the same thing:

FPS
58
63
57
60
63
57
63
57
63
57
63
57
63
57

For some reason, I cannot get higher than 63 FPS, and it's constantly jumping between 57 and 63?

Major Breakthrough

When I unplugged my other monitors, programs started behaving properly with VSync ON.

I think my PC is somehow thinking that my primary monitor is not the ASUS. It did have a #2 next to it in my display properties, but I didn't think that mattered.

Regardless, this definitely has something to do with my other monitors. I'm going to continue to play around and see what I figure out.

As crazy as it is, after plugging the monitors all back in, it seems to be working properly. I'll update if anything changes.

Kicking myself for not trying this earlier...

Okay, so this issue is only happening when I am cloning my primary monitor with my receiver. I think certain programs are reading the receiver as the primary display device, even though I have specifically set my ASUS to be the primary clone source.

As soon as I turn off the clone, it works fine. However certain programs won't run, almost as if they don't see a primary monitor.

My monitor is considered monitor #2 for some reason, and I can't set it any differently.

Any ideas?

Windows REALLY hates multiple screens with different refresh rates, but at least you have a direction to go in now.

Yeah. It's definitely an issue when cloning two monitors with different refresh rates. I think I'll make a new thread tomorrow since this has gone far off the rails from what I initially thought it was.

Thanks for all the help.
