Black Mesa Releasing Sept. 14th

It's listed as a "Free to Play" game, but I would imagine that existing F2P games on Steam have some sort of revenue-sharing arrangement. I'm not sure how this could actually pan out.

Why does that picture look so photoshopped, yet I don't think it is. Gabe needs to hit the elliptical, ASAP. Wtf Gabe? Also in before: Finally? This game's at the bottom of my 'poo-covered games' list.
 
13 hours.......I hope they didn't stray to far from the original game. I haven't played it past the marines and I've been waiting on this so I don't have to
 
Damn man lose that weight. Makes life so much tougher when you are that big. Cheers to the food stains on the shirt though. I ruin more shirts that way. Then I don't wear them around hotties lol.

I agree. Only thing I can remember when it came out that could hold a candle was doom3 graphics. For physics, source had pretty much everything beat back then.

When skyrim came out with its slightly patched oblivion dx9 graphics, I just about puked. Yet people are giving black mesa, a free mod, so much stick for using source graphics...


I'm counting down those remaining 4 hours. I've been waiting since I owned an X800XT, banging out HL1/2 on a CRT, to play this!

Considering duke nukem made it to the front page, this should too. Bet it delivers in spades.

and you still wont as Black Mesa is not complete and there is no telling when the Xen level will get released.
 
Xen was awesome. It was such a bizarre change of pace from the rest of the game and in it self is a spoiler. Still no excuse to play through the original the gameplay mechanics still feel great and haven't aged a bit to me.

that was sort of my point though. it seems many people stopped playing at Xen and he would still not be able to finish HL 1 since for now there is no Xen in Black Mesa.
 
why are they launching at 10:46? that's what my clock says. am i wrong? seems kinda.. arbitrary.

It's doing all sorts of crazy. First I got a 403 - Forbidden, then I got stuck on a black page. Then I got a webpage is offline. Now i'm back to stuck on a black page.
 
At one point I got it to show a progress bar of some sort, which got to 34% and got stuck.
