It's in uber mode.
I noticed the core is locked to a minimum of 1050 as well. It has to be software related, because it wasn't always this way.
It's like one of my previous overclocks became the minimum allowed settings somehow, and I'm not sure how it happened.
So I've been overclocking my 290x, and I encountered a problem.
Somehow, the clock of my memory is stuck at 1333 (x4). In afterburner, the memory clock slider is stuck at 1333 (lowest position). If I try to manually change the number, it just resets to 1333 instantly.
I can clock the...
I think I might be better off just waiting for broadwell.
It looks like many laptops (if not all?) won't even run the dedicated card at all without power from the wall.
When someone says the laptop gets ~1hr of life gaming, I was thinking that was with the dedicated card.
Regardless, having a...
Yes I'm seeing those, and I'm wondering if I won't be better off buying something like the ghost, even if it is much more expensive than an older model.
Though, I suppose the main question is whether or not the integrated GPU on broadwell is a great improvement, since that would make a big...
So I've been looking for a gaming laptop, or perhaps a laptop to game on. I've seen used options for 770m/870m laptops in the $900-$1200 range. Mostly I play WoW, some with some FPS. This laptop would also be used in a trip to Australia, in late October (however I could buy something much...
I figured that about the multi-input. Is it just their inability to OC, or are there other concerns too? In doing some research it looks like input lag is a problem with multi-inputs.
Is there a particular model to get, or avoid for backlight bleed? I forgot to ask, as this is another concern...
I am curious about this panel that I mentioned above, QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution ll SE, supposedly the frame skipping was fixed, and this panel can be overclocked even though it is multi-input. It is an AH-VA panel from AU Optronics. It is also a 10 bit panel, though I'm really not sure how much...
Are you saying to wait because new tech will push prices down on 1440 monitors?
I'm not especially interested in 4k, only because I doubt my card (290x) will be able to drive 4k 60hz for any kind of gaming whatsoever.
Also I'm under the impression that 4k with DPI scaling doesn't work...
So I've been looking around for a new monitor, and have become incredibly overwhelmed. I bought a korean monitor for my wife a while ago (PLS Qnix evolution II) and was pretty please with it. The main downside it has is backlight bleed.
It seems like there are so many different korean...
I went ahead and disabled ULPS support via the registry setting. I don't think this changed anything.
However I finally stumbled upon a thread that mentioned this issue, and referred to radeonpro, which can manually set a constant clockspeed via a profile. This let me set the clockspeed...
I'm confused though, if it's dropping the core clock speed, isn't that throttling?
Maintaining a constant clock speed is important in a raid setting where things can rapidly become more graphics intensive, and a hiccup from throttling can be costly. I play other games, but WoW is my bread and...
Well, to be clear, WoW still hits 100% GPU load on GPU-Z. I also notice that it drops to 0% at times, fluctuating, even when the amount of content to render is relatively constant. I'm not sure why the GPU load would be dropping to 0% and then spiking up to 100%.
I've noticed that the frame...
I'm quite confused. Perhaps I am wrong in thinking that if I have WoW open, and the core is running at 600mhz, that I will see improved frame rates when the core is running at 1000mhz? The idea that there is no performance difference between the two is absurd.
Also this statement "Just because...
So I recently picked up a 290 unlocked to 290x from another forum member, and I've been having throttling issues, even when the temp is quite low.
In doing some testing, I've noticed that with WoW open, the core speed throttles alot. With the graphics turned down, the core went as low as...
I'm intrigued by the OC panel. I've been iffy about these panels in the past, as they can seem for flash than function, curious to see how this one does.
I also have access to a 256mb BFG 7800GTX, let me know if you still need pics more than provided above...
It was such a card back in the day. Remember paying $300 or $400 for it, top of the line card anymore is well over twice that, if not three times...
So I have another question if anyone can help. I see two main ways of approaching the OC, one is to set the multiplier to auto, set the max core ratio on all cores to 45, and allow the CPU to use speedstep to change the speed dynamically. I liked this because the voltage was also dynamic, with...
So I'm using a MSI z77a-GD65 and a 3570k cooled by a cooler master hyper 212+. After some work understanding the bios, I managed to get my settings squared away, and am currently at 4.5ghz using the "auto" vcore setting of my motherboard, which seems to set the vcore to 1.24v idle reading in cpu...
I'm sure you've already considered buying a 24v supply?
That's quite a bit of power to ask from a 1000watt PSU, I'm not certain how the math would work, but I don't think you'd have enough on the -12v.
I'd really suggest buying a 24v supply though, unless you just want a project.
I...
So I've got an old seasonic s12 430 watt psu. Currently running Q6600, abit p35, 8800GTS, 2HDDs, SSD, and some case fans.
However, I picked up a 4870 on sale at newegg (realized that was probably a mistake) after seeing what incredibly performance it had for the money, $60. I did get a free...
Although $40 seems like a ripoff given what most have paid for these (deal was real sweet at 16gb for those that got in on those), the touchstone seems like a good unit. A stand that doubles as a charger, I really like the idea of that.
yeah, they charged an extra $8-$12 to help pad things. Someone probably figured out that everyone would bitch but still bite, and they could pick up an extra $10 on every tablet sold during the sale.
Been looking at cases for this thing, it's such a crapshoot.
In reading amazon reviews, there...
It was a mess. Items said they were sold out/listing not available/etc on ebay. Once in a while I would get through to add it to cart, get to paypal, and then item unavailable. People started suggesting going through the .ca or .uk servers. Tried, and ended up with the same luck. Finally...
yeah, it all went downhill once folks figured out it's not the quality of your product that matters, but rather how folks perceive the quality of your product.
I heard skyrim has a tendency to crap out once you start to log more and more hours, something about a savegame bug. Was interested in it, but tons of online reviews were complaining about that. Can't imagine how pissed I'd be if I got 50 hours in only to end up having to stop because the game...
without saying it's right or wrong, I'm going to guess someone in middle management got 1 unfixed laptop closer to hitting a bonus by approving this rejection.
given that it isn't a real auction, I don't think you'll be able to use a sniping tool. Not to say you couldn't write a script for it, but there also isn't a live page for them yet. I'm guessing a number of folks will still have to click through to get them. Plus, this isn't a doorbuster, there...
how hard are those to setup? are they used in a pair, and sold by the each?
So I'd have router (over cat5) -----> nano link (over air) ---------------> nano link ------------>(fed by cat5 from 2nd nano)other router (working as repeater/switch) at parents?
again, concerned about setup. Also...
well, I'm not dying to do the cable modem, was looking into it because I'm on a 2.0 now, and comcast said when they gave me a free speed upgrade I'd might want to get a 3.0 (I think 20mbps service)
Anyways, I'd thought about running a cable, but the houses are separated by a road. I'd have to...
what about adding a 2nd repeater in between the base and the one in my parents house?
I'm guessing it would be best to have the strongest repeater in the middle, but maybe not...
Again, ton of products out there, high gain router/repeaters, high gain extending repeaters
So I recently moved in next door to my folks house, literally, across the street (30 yards from front door, maybe 70 from current base). I decided a great way to pay them back would be to set up a wireless network so we can share movies, music, and a gateway (looking to upgrade to a SB6121 to...
I don't think that's true, you could be a great engineer stuck at a crap company. Just cause some execs changed the course of the business from making ram to suing people doesn't mean there weren't good engineers working there. Hell, engineers don't really get to determine what to make nearly as...
anyone got any info on the coil whine issues? I realize this is pretty common, but man a bad coil whine is a real PITA, especially the kind that has issues with page scrolling..
WTB 8gb (2x4gb) DDR2-800 SODIMM aka PC2-6400
Looking to upgrade my wifes laptop (vostro 1520) so I'm looking for some ram. Realize most folks are onto DDR3, but if you've got some kicking around, let me know!
Shoot me a PM
