Is it possible to setup a drive in windows to receive data in case the main drive gets full?
for example
if c:\downloads becomes full, therefore all downloads now go into d:\downloads?
Ouch, my new raid 0 with velociraptors and im only getting 104 megs average. This is way lower than what you guys are getting with yours, and other bench marks i've seen. I probably havent installed the right drivers or something. Any ideas? Where can i check to see if they are running in...
Yeah, never thought about the power.
I havent upgraded my psu in a long time. I think its only 420w. which im guessing isnt enough for the 8800gt recomendations?
I have a sound card and 3 case fans, and 3, hdd's and 1 dvd drive running off it also.

I tried more games and it appears to be doing it with others as well.
Temps have been below 60 all the time, and if i alt tab out of the game, and go back in, everything is back to normal and the game runs fine again.
very strange.
im going to try some older drivers and see if that...

I'm at a difficult position with my current gaming PC. Its at the point where i either scrap the whole thing and get a brand new "expensive" machine, or try and breath one last bit of life into it, but i need your help.
Here's what i currently have

Hello
I'm upgrading my AGP card on a Asrock dual 939 ULi mobo, to a new PCI-e video card. (This motherboard supports both AGP and PCI-e) and i was wondering if i should uninstall the AGP driver first, or if i can just leave it. Also, i can't see any special PCI-e driver on their website...
It seems that as soon as i put AA even to 2x, my frames drop considerably in all my games... maybe ill just bite the bullet and reinstall the OS, it has been a long time.
That always seems to fix things
I want to get 2 gigs for my system 2x1gb dual channel
I have a Asrock 939 dual sata 2 and an athlon 3800+ x2 chip

I'm running a Asrock 939dual-sata 2 mobo
it uses the ULI chipset,
i just reinstalled windows MCE onto some a new drive and setup the other ones as we spoke about earlier, but i havent had a chance to try buringing something yet. I will see if it still drops to 0 and bounces around now that...
Alright, i re installed a new windows (onto its own hard drive - Sata 1) and popped in a second drive (sata 2) for downloading to, extracting and burning. Wow, yeah no more system slowdown problems. Everything is nice and fast while im extracting files. I have some older drives kicking...
Wow, thanks for all of the responses, i guess the main problem is that i have the OS/app on the same drive (different partition) then the extracting, so its slowing things down, i can understand why it would be better if i had 2 seperate physical drives instead of partitions. I will purchase a...
Awesome, thanks for the info,
So yeah the money doesnt matter, but the space and extraction times (and being able to still use my computer while extracting) are the most important.
So i want something big AND fast.
Just to make sure im on the same page. I should get a 15K SCSI or a...
I have a pretty fast computer (Athlon X2 3800+ over clocked to a 4200+)

The taskmanager shows both cores only...
Ok i double checked the connections and they are indeed hooked up correctly. This still gave me an ugly picture, so what i did, was do a factory reset on the "colours" for the monitor, and instantly it went to a much better picture. Maybe my monitor got messed up when i was plugging something...
Thanks ill give that a shot tonight,
when i had it hooked up at work today, i hooked up the green and blue backwards, and no picture came up, so ill triple check that i do it correctly on the 2405 and see what happens
I hooked mine up to the 2405fpw, using the component cables, and turning the xbox to 1080i with the cable switched to HDTV, and it looks like crap. The blacks are all crushed and the whites are way to bright. i played with the colour and brightness settings etc, and everything looks like...
My 2405FPW with the 360 running at 1080i through component, looks like A$$, i guess i need to get the VGA cable for the xbox to get it looking as good as some of those screen shots i've seen running on their 2005 or 2405's?
I recently picked up a 3.2E prescott chip and i've gotten it part way with my overclock, and i think i can push it further, but i wanted to check with you guys to see if i've overlooked something.

well i dunno what happened, but now the card is giving me all kinds of funky ascii text when i boot, so i think the card has bit the dust :(
it did me well, it was nearly 2 years old, probably one of the oldest pieces of hardware i've ever had,
i was waiting till the new line of cards...
I was attempting to upgrade the heatsink on my radeon 9700 and everything was going super well, got the old one off, took off the shim and was scraping the old crappy thermal grease off the chip, when my exacto knife slipped, and knocked off one of those little tiny resistor looking things that...
