Hi all, if you had to make an educated guess, what is the likelihood that the Black Ridge will be able to cool an R9 3900X in an A4? Noctua has this to say about the NH-L9a in relation to the R7 2700X, which has the same TDP: Recommended with good case ventilation only, might drop below base...
On the latest BIOS, yes. A few things of note:
My graphics-side panel is off as my card is too thick
I have a 3D printed duct that connects the Noctua fan directly to the CPU-side panel
I don't know much about overclocking
With that being said, at a 3.7GHz overclock I had the following...
Anyone building a Ryzen system in this case and planning on using the NH-L9(a/i), I have a fan duct you can 3D print. I am using this with the Biostar X370GTN, but I assume the socket height would be the same for other boards?
I have the Wraith Spire's fan hooked up to the header and it works. I originally had it upside down and I think some of the color channels were switched as a result. Try flipping your connector.
There is an option to change input detection from auto to manual, but this doesn't seem to change anything. I have an update to my problem though. If I have the computer hooked up to the TV and booted into Windows, and then plug the monitor in, it will work. Also, I don't know if it would...
Don't the 1700X and 1800X have a +20 degree offset in the reported temperature? https://www.overclock3d.net/news/cpu_mainboard/amd_s_r7_1800x_and_1700x_report_higher_temperatures_with_a_20_degree_offset/1
All right, I am really needing some help on this. I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 that was in my Phenom II build. I transferred this card to my Biostar X370GTN with Ryzen 7 1700 build. I have tried this new computer of mine with two different monitors and upon powering it on I get no video...
For anyone not using the internal USB 2.0 header I think I have a decent solution for the lack of onboard WiFi/Bluetooth.
Breakout the internal header into two female ports: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Motherboard-Header-Adapter-USBMBADAPT2/dp/B002GNU2V6/
Get a USB WiFi adapter with...
Hello everyone. Since Newegg has had these in and out of stock for a bit now, I figure it would be best to start a consolidated thread to help owners sort out through the myriad of issues this board has (and, boy, it has some problems).
A note on RAM: If 2 x 8GB at 3200MHz sounds good to you...
In almost exact same situation. Also bought a 1700 from Kyle and got this board a few days ago. I cannot, for whatever reason, get any video out to my monitor. I hooked it up to the TV in the living room and it works fine. You might try that.
I'm thinkin' the stock cooler is quite a bit better as it's keeping me in the 40C-48C range. That comes at the expense of it sticking really far out of the case, though.
I have been using a miniDP -> HDMI cable for the monitor before I built the new 'puter using the old graphics card. I used an HDMI cable to hook it up to the TV, so I used that same cable with the monitor but no such luck.
Still fiddling around with it. For some reason, I get no video out when I have this computer plugged into my monitor, but it works when I hook it up to the TV in the living room. If anyone has suggestions on why this might be and how to fix it I would be thrilled to hear them. I used the...
Hey, everyone! I think this might be the first Ryzen build in the case. I am either getting Vega, or maybe an RX 580, but currently am using my Sapphire 7970. I think it's a 2.5 slot card, because the fan shroud was bumping up against the case and I had to cut a bit off in order to seat the...
Thank you for the clarification. I figured the gap to be important to cooling, I was just wondering how easy it would be to put feet on it. Given that the stand is removable, the addition of feet should not be too difficult.
