I can see them putting a disc drive. But only for Blu-ray/CD Playback. Cause with the constant increase in flash media storage capabilities. I'm sure microsoft will be able to come up with a proprietary technology for their consoles that the games will be on some sort of Flash Media (SD, etc.)...
And if this happens, and it becomes standard on all new systems, you can probably say bye-bye to gamestop. Cause 75-80% of their business comes from people buying used games. And Developers will phase out older generation console (PS3, XB360) games to the point where if anyone wants a new game...
And you'll probably end up having the same issues as you do with itunes downloads if you ever have to reformat your O/S Install. Where you end up having to pay for the game again anyway.
