Blu-Ray is going to win.
not only because of movies, but the larger capacity of the disc. also because of PS3, Blu-Ray are more common used then HD-DVD. as of now, HD-DVD is strictly for movies and not for data or games.
I remember seeing a picture of it somewhere. but cant seem to find it anywhere now.
IIRC, its suppose to be like an Antec Fusion but a full size case similar to a silverstone.
From the reviews i read, Crossfired HD2900XT is still slower then a single 8800GTS 640.
$439 Canadian for a single HD2900XT

and
only $489 for a 8800GTS 640 OC which is faster then 2 HD2900XT

not too special, its barely enough to run Vista :(
Athlon 3000+ Venice
Asus A8N-VM CSM
1GB OCZ PC3200 Ram
IBM Deathstar 60GB IDE HDD
some DVD Rom
Hauppauge PVR150 tv tuner card
right now it is connected via the on board GeForce 6150 using DVI to HDMI cable
most of the video i watch...
my fireplace doesnt even work actually, its not one of those gas ones that can be turned on with a switch. so it was more of an eyesore.
i think mounting the LCD on top of the fireplace is a bit too high to watch, i've seen it on some smaller condos and i think it stress the neck too much...
i used a dual link DVI-D to HDMI cable... no luck
apparently, the sales at a-power.com told me that the HD2600XT comes with the DVI to HDMI adapter, but the rest does not.
the only remote i really use is the TV and MCE
would Logitech Harmony be a good choice? most importantly, i can not find a programable remote that have the "Green Button"
video works fine, i've been using DVI to HDMI cable for a while, but audio from HDMI does not work with these cables. to get full HDMI capability, i think others have been saying that it needs a special DVI to HDMI adapter
i used a HD2400 and ran the resolution in windows as 1920x1080
so is that 1080P or 1080i? according to my TV, its 1080P
But i have to return it, cuz it does not come with the special DVI to HDMI adapter that does audio.
i just got a HD2400pro, but I cant seem to get audio from the DVI to HDMI using the cable.
and I cant seem to find a DVI to HDMI adapter for this card for sale anywhere since it does not come with one.
in windows, it does show that there is HDMI audio, but is it even possible to get audio...
i'm running 1080P currently with my old setup. but i dont really watch any HD content, just windows running at 1080P. its just when watching tv, it probably upscale the tv input to 1080P
another thing i was looking at was upgrading the HDD on my current setup plus a HD2400 pro video card. since i believe that one also does HDMI w/ Audio.
would that be a better solution?
I'm looking into a new MCE setup running vista, here is the config i got so far
AMD Athlon X2 4200+ EE
Asus M2A-VM HDMI
2GB Kingston DDR2 667
500GB HDD x2
Hauppauge HVR-1600
Antec Fusion Case
my current MCE setup is like this
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Asus A8N-VM CSM
1GB DDR1 400
60GB...
started from like this
some S3 4MB PCI video card on my P2-266
then added a 3DFX Voodoo, kept it for a while until i upgraded to a BX2 motherboard and jump into the Celeron 300A crazy.
used a Voodoo Banshee AGP at first with that.
After that one fried, got my first nVidia Card, the TNT2...
i dont really know how they work internally. i was thinking of using dual core on one chip to perform SLI functions. but more importantly is to shrink the die down even further. 65nm still seem too big for GPU especially the amount of power and heat it produce is already far greater then...
i got one the first day it was avaliable. i can say it is the best keyboard i've ever owned.
i find the LCD very useful especially in WoW, and the light up keyboard is pretty sweet too.
