I removed the HDD from the Mac. Using USB, I connected to my PC. I opened HFSExplorer. HFSE found nothing. I then conducted a HDD test using WD Lifeguard. Quick test found enough errors to terminate the scan. Thanks everyone. i learned something. Next time i will at least have a few tools to use.

Do i need special software to "convert" the files ?

OK.....final report....Compatible Battery HAS FULLY CHARGED ! so, conclusions..... for the HP DV4-1435dx entertainment laptop... you MUST use an HP OEM Power Supply 65w. A compatible battery will operate the laptop and charge properly. This is because of "Smart" technology. On the...

So, I kind of agree here before further experimentation....the 1225dx worked with the OEM power supply. My investigation online says the OEM is 18.5v. I will line one up ! I just didn't want to chase my tail and spend another $15-$20 if the power supply wasn't the issue. Thanks so much. I...
TY TY TY for the comment....i am really confused here.....Interesting....the "compatible" power supply is 19.5v I checked out the OEM HP and it lists 18.5v is there a way to measure the voltage with a multi-meter ? Still, refer to my original post.... the "compatible" power supply charges...

Dell Inspiron n5050. Fresh install from Win7 Home Premium with valid COA. Upgrade to Win10 (same as on 30 other PC's I've done). After latest updates (not 1511), when the PC reboots I get a backlit black screen. After rolling back and other tests, I attached an external monitor which shows...
I have found that if malware is involved, rolling back does not solve the problem. I have even used the factory recovery section of the hard drive to restore the pc and found that the malware had invaded that section. However, I cannot say if the recent installations by the big manufacturers...
Of course, further inspection showed that the "new" replacement LCD had the CCFL leads cut and spliced to connect to the inverter. I investigated on eBay for a replacement CCFL and it showed that this screen is used in MacBooks as well as Dell xps 13 and xps 1310.
I am recommending to the...
