some countries do not carry the Gateway locally, and the HP has a TN panel, does not have as many inputs as the Dell and the warranty is 1 year i believe? not too sure abt the warranty though.

i'm having this problem too on DVI. once windows is idle, the power saving timer kicks in and once the monitor is in power saving mode it cannot resume. only a reboot will fix it. this doesnt happen when plugged in VGA or DVI->VGA converter. using a ATI 9600pro.
