    HDHomeRun Prime + Plex?

The HDHomerun Prime can serve to DLNA and HTTP requests so transcoding and redistributing with Plex would be a great idea. But last time I checked on Silicon Dust's forums the transcoder Plex uses won't do on-the-fly transcoding. So no live streams. I believe someone is working on this...

    Best video card sub $200

What part of the east coast? They're a midwestern based company, but there are locations in NY, NJ, MD, VA, Boston and Philadelphia.

    Smallest HTPC

Be careful with E350 or Atom setups as Netflix and certain web streams can lag at 1080p. I bought a cheap Foxconn mini-ITX system with an E350 APU. It handles 1080p content like MKV or MP4 files just fine when there's a player that can decode in hardware. But some web players haven't coded...

    Personal PVR

This all depends on the type of signal that's coming into your house. It looks like Synology with the HDHomerun will work, but they only appear to support the DVB-T version. What country are you in and who is your TV provider? EDIT: Just saw you're in Canada. What kind of TV signal are you...

should I upgrade to 560 ti?

I don't think they had many as that particular Shell Shocker sold out in 15 minutes.

should I upgrade to 560 ti?

So how about if I'm running a single GTX 260? This seems like a great deal for a budget conscious gamer.

Need recommendations for an HTPC card

I run a Radeon 4550 1GB card with HDMI out to my receiver that handles pretty much anything I throw at it. It's paired up with an old E4400 and 4GB of RAM. You don't need much to get good video these days. Just stay away from the Fusion and ION products if you want to watch Netflix in HD...

    Windows 2008 Server opinions

I still love Server 2008 and have it running on my work laptop. It's an awesome workstation. It doesn't seem to chew on the hard drive like Vista does.

    Windows 2008 Server opinions

I had Server 2008 running on my gaming system for a few months and it was great.. until all the little compatibility problems just made it unbearable. Server 2008 has DirectX 10 and even worked with my Sound Blaster x-Fi card. I was amazed that all my games worked just fine. But there were a...

    gaming rig with tuner card?

The Hauppauge HVR-1800 is probably what I would get if I were in the market right now. I've never had a problem with Hauppauge cards, and it's capable of ATSC and QAM if/when you decide to get cable. Stay far away from any of the Pinnacle cards. They may be tempting because of the price but...

    Is the 9600GT reliable?

I got the 9600GT superclocked edition from EVGA a few weeks ago and haven't had any problems with it. It's humming along just fine with a Q6600 in a Vista 64 Ultimate system and my games love the card. The system is on 24 hours a day running F@H.

Need budget videocard that won't bottleneck Vista with quadcore

I'm running a 9600GT with Aero and it's butter smooth. It's not quite as fast as the 8800GT but you can find it for cheaper ($129 after rebate is the cheapest I've seen) and it runs cooler. The only thing that gives my card a whooping is Crysis, but what card doesn't.

How loud is Freezer 7 Pro?

Mine is keeping a Q6600 @ 3GHz decently cool and very quiet. Great HSF for the price.

Which HSF Do You Recommend (LGA775)?

I have an AC7 Pro on my Q6600 B3. It keeps temps decent running at 3GHz. If I ever plan to go higher I'll need something like the Tuniq Tower. I'd try the AC7 first and see how it does, then move to something beefier if you need more cooling. Can't go wrong for the price.
