No one ever said 100% faster than 2080Ti. I would suggest rewatching the reveal. And all these pathetic youtube shills and hardware websites just giving Nvidia a pass. What journalists with any integrity would accept this bullcrap? NDAs that don't expire until after the cards are available to purchase? It's so obvious that the FE cards are worse than the AIB cards. They wouldn't be afraid of reviews if they weren't.
Early benchmarks have already confirmed Nvidia was flat out lying about performance. 100% faster than the 2080ti my ass.
That was [H]ard OCP. The whole point of the site. RIP my sweet. Our definition of fun are wildy different I guess
Luckily games benches has taken over and there arefew sites thay post useless 3Dmark numbers...at least the good reviews

Riddle me this: Why do people buy tiny ass cases if they plan to also buy big ass GPUs?
Over the last week i have seen dozens of people asking about whether certain cards will fit inside their shoe-box cases.
Are some pc gamers just obsessed with cramming as much power into the smallest space possible? why do that? my $60 define s could fit two 3090's end-to-end in it... wtf are you people buying?
To be clear I'm not talking about SFF. I mean ATX builds.

I think it is funny when someone complains about their mediocre PSU not being enough for the $1500 3090 that has 10k+ CUDA cores and 28B transistors.... sorry if a $50 PSU can’t power a $3,500+ rig? Lol
We’re living in the age of discontent. People aren’t happy unless they’re unhappy. So much so that they invent things to be angry about.

I got bored of doing massive UFO water cooled rigs and did a mini itx phlantek case for my 2080ti build...it was fun cramming all that power into a nice compact space. But the tiny two slot gpu space & 650 PSU aint gonna cut it for the 3000 series....but already have replacement N400 micro atx + 1000w PSU ready to go.
It's all about balancing the cooling and the noise under load. That's where I see ITX falling apart without significant compromises like fewer cores and lower clockspeeds all around. And then there's cost if you do decide to try and find a good balance.I had a Radeon x295 in a Silverstone Sugo 09. Tiny beast of a machine. Since it was water cooled and the temps were surprisingly good. I've also has blower cards in ITX cases, that exhaust heat directly out of the case, that had very respectable temps. If heat is dispersed properly from a small case, you can keep components surprisingly cool in small cases.
True but do not judge PSU performance with price my 1KW EVGA G2 cost $90 on sale.I bought the cheapest case possible for my basement rigs that no one sees. I was surprised, but shouldn’t have been, how short they were. My sawsall fixed that though. So could have been by mistake.

I want to buy the 3080 or 3090 day 1. I wish I knew the power limits and reviews were all the same time.
Do what are you talking about?
You may want to get better sourcing because literally everything in this post is bunk.
"NDA's that do expire till after the cards are available to purchase" -
Not true.
The founders edition NDA got postponed to the 16th, the founders edition cards will go to sell on the 17th.
AiB card reviews go up on the 17th, the day that a person can buy the founder edition cards.
The AiB partner card NDA is not coming after you can buy those cards. The founders edition is supposed to be the first cards that can be bought on the 17th, the NDA will not be after the cards are out for purchase.
"Obvious FE cards will be worse than AiB partners" - no, that is not obvious. Not at all. As a matter of fact, there are people spreading the exact opposite rumors, yet they are condemning Nvidia and complaining about it, all the same.
lastly, the 3080 is not supposed to be 2x the 2080ti. That's, once again, something you have totally misconstrued.
The entire post is bunk.
0 for 3
You got to be just trying to make stink.

The AIB reviews go up on the same day that they're available for purchase. If you take the time to read a review, they'll already be out of stock.
They effectively blocked reviews so people wouldn't have enough time to make an informed decision about their purchase before making it. You're the one posting bunk.
Nonsense, you can take as long as you like between a review and deciding to make a purchase. Nobody is forcing a day 0, second 0 purchase. The AIB reviews go up on the same day that they're available for purchase. If you take the time to read a review, they'll already be out of stock.
They blocked AIB reviews so you won't know how much better they are than the FE so you can't make an informed decision about a FE purchase.

Worst case, you wait a bit, read some reviews, and possibly see what the competition does. Eeek!
So you're simultaneously implying that they aren't that good, and lamenting you can't get one right away.Yeah right. Wait around and not get one, then the miners come in and swoop up all the inventory and artificially inflate prices, and then you have no hope of getting one close to MSRP. Stop fucking pretending that they're not intentionally trying to deprive people of information before making a purchase when they obviously are.

nVidia and Bestbuy always have them at MSRP. I bought my 2080ti during the shortage with just a little patience.
It also takes a few minutes to read a review? The launch and nda are a day apart...

Edit: Sorry, tone sounds combative. I'm trying to reconcile these two things. If a buyer has any concern, they'd be well advised to just wait.
I think people can connect dots pretty well from FE information honestly. Failing that, early adopters always assume risk. Ask me about my Star Citizen backing sometime.I'm just saying that they're intentionally scheduling these things so early adopters are going in ill informed.
Nothing, this is planned. Have everyone buy in that the FE cards are great $/perf for initial release with limited to no stock, then keep prices high. Nobody is going to go back to the original reviews and update pricing, so it makes them look better while still overcharging and people being happy ton get their hands on it for the inflated prices.not even looking at the high end cards, what could they possibly have done to a 3070 to make it worth 40% more than FE?
Has anyone else noticed that 3090 has more ROPS than 3080?
What GPU are you looking to get?I'm just saying that they're intentionally scheduling these things so early adopters are going in ill informed.
That power adapter thing is...bizarre. Why didn't they just put the power connectors on the top of the actual PCB like everyone else? Seems like just more potential points of failure. Unlikely to fail, I would imagine, but still.

I‘m using a Fractal Design Meshify C and it ended up being a little smaller than I thought it would be. That being said, it still has a decent amount of space and my MSI Ventus 2080Ti fits comfortably in it and a 3080 would fit fine. The 3090 should also fit but only with a few millimeters to spare. Makes me miss my HAF X, lol!Riddle me this: Why do people buy tiny ass cases if they plan to also buy big ass GPUs?
