and yes, 780 SLI testing will be coming... after something else
The 780 was NOT a step up from the 680, the 770 is the step up
So, what sort of price drops will we see for the hd 7970 GE and when now that the 780 is here?

We got new high end class, for 650$. Bye,bye 400-500$ high end. Thank you Nvidia and go to hell.
Oh please AMD, get your act together.. if they don't, I wouldn't be surprised to see the next generation from nVidia retail at $850. Great for nVidia.. sucks as a consumer.
according to this review ... isnt the HD7970 a better buy for $200 less? in some cases even more than $200 ... looking at the average fps in most games and it seems as if the HD7970 is right there almost on pair with the GTX 780 , with like 1 or maybe 2 fps less in some cases the hd 7970 is ever better..but costing $200 less..
what do you guys think?
Check the game settings. They are not the same
Fuck, what happened to affordable great performing video cards? When did middle of the pack rise to $650?
This video card should be called the Geforce 680 GTX. God I miss competition.

Marketing at it's best, it is MUCH cheaper than $1,000, right?
I have a 6950 right now, and was going to upgrade to a 680 as sort of a pat-me-on-the-back gift to myself for getting a raise. But now I'm tempted to look at the 780, even though I can see what nvidia did with the pricing with respect to the Titan's release.
yep, $650 is dumb for this video card.
Okay, let's look at the competition for this card.... oh wait, there is none, and won't be any until the end of the year.
Given that AMD will not have any product to compete with this card until at least Q4, what motive does Nvidia have to put a cheaper price on the GTX 780?
People aren't forced to buy it.
People aren't forced to buy it.
Nor did I make any mention of that. I will still be buying one despite me thinking it is overpriced(wanted 2 of them). Im just saying that the price of the Titan is making people believe that a $650 card is a deal now a days.
See GTX 280
It has been done before. It's just us getting comfortable with cheap prices over the last few years.
Prices go up and down. Never remained steady over multiple generations. We are on a "up" trend.
