AMD [H]ardOCP GamExperience - July 16

Only 5084 miles to Dallas from here, its a good drive. I hate driving the Atlantic Ocean though, won't do it again.

This event sounds way cool, major props to Kyle and crew for setting something like this up for the community.

Post lots of video and pics please.

Hey Monte, hope all has been going well for you! I plan to be at this event also!

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Looks like me and the S2000 will find a way to make a work related visit to this "Technology Summit." God I love my job. ;)

Plus all of our CAD stations (1200 PC's in this office alone) are moving over to Eyefinity setups via FirePro cards. Downtown Fort Worth to the venue should be cake at 10am.

See you there...

Well damnit. I was seriously considering making the drive from Cincinnati and I just got a letter saying that i'm getting stuck with jury duty around July 16th. How many times are they going to pick me, as i'm getting tired of it.

You can tell them you have travel plans.

Here, that is not considered an excuse unless you can provide them with all your travel arrangements and prove that they were all made before you got the summons.

I've been told by people that an easy way to get kicked out of the jury pool is to say something really stupid on the first day during the interview, and i'm tempted to say something wrong and bigotted. Even worse, they make you pay for your own parking downtown which is expensive as HELL.

Being racist or stupid to avoid jury duty is not a good idea.

Yes, the parking sucks. I recently had jury duty and spent $20 the first day for parking (right across the street in a nice garage) and $10 the next day in some shit parking lot because the garage was full :(

Props to Kyle and AMD for setting up another awesome event. RoGcon was fun and the last eyefinity event was a blast.

look forward to this one as well.

Any chance we might see that triple projector gaming station again? that was by far the coolest item at the last eyefinity show.

I was thinking something along the lines of saying, "They still hang people in this state, right?"

Saying something racist could be very bad for your future.

We'll see though as I just don't have time for this right now.

Any news as to where it's being held? I liked the last venue, at the Hyatt, was convenient because it was right off the DART station! :)

Live in Carrollton and I go to Quakecon every year since I've moved to Texas...No way in hell I'm missing this. Already emailed Monte about possible help.

That is pretty awesome although if such events happen in the future more notice would be appreicated, I cannot make this one. I hope it goes well though.

Any more details?? Just have to make plans while down there for work to stop by.

who ever came up with that image for the gamexperience event on the news page, awesome job.

I am actually going to be in the Dallas area that weekend. Guess I will stop by. Where is this going to take place??

Just east of downtown Dallas in Deep Ellum.

Of course I will be there :)

Let me know if you need any volunteers or anything else, Kyle...

Get with Monte, he is coordinating all of that. [email protected]

Yes, and yes. We are doubling up on that this year. Should be running head to head Dirt 3 with some nice racing seat chair rigs (as it is planned right now).

Deep Ellum. 2616 Commerce Street, Dallas, TX. Venue website here. Map [ame="http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2616+Commerce+Dallas,+TX&fb=1&gl=us&cid=0,0,11849379265428633226&z=16&iwloc=A"]here[/ame].

There will be sign ups for tourneys soon, but you can stop by any time and just hang and check out the demos.

10 on 10 Gaming will be setup. Eyefinity vs. NonEF.

AMD's guys in Texas came up with that one. :D

According to google maps, that's a 48 minute drive (1h30m with traffic). I'll probably make it :)

I'm planning on going, if work cooperates. Kyle's stuff is always good...

Sweet. When we went to the Eyefinity event, I remember there being parking right across the street... and twisted root burgers being across the street also.
Good place to have it at!

I still have my limited edition ATI Ruby from the eyefinity event. Hopefully there will be more cool giveaways like that!

i still have my Ruby in the box too!
I also still have my Ratzpad Kyle gave all attendees.
Already cleared it with the wife. I am a lock in baby! See ya there!

So does this mean that Bulldozer will be the unannounced future hardware that was being talked about initially? As a PC gamer, I was actually hoping that the unannounced hardware was going to be the ATI 7000 series :)

I'm going to see if I can wiggle out of jury duty as this sounds better and better all the time. I've always wanted to see Texas and this would be my first chance as i've never really had any reason to come out that way. I want to try a real Texas style steakhouse rather than the fake chain restaurants here.

It's Dallas, of course there are hookers. Now whether its advisable to even touch them is a different matter.
