Xbox 360 on a Dell 2001 FPW

I recently got an xbox 360 for christmas along with Gears of War. I have the Premium Edition but don't have an HDTV. I found a cable to hook my xbox to my Dell LCD monitor and want to try it out, but am wondering how I'll hook that up to the audio on my PC? I'm running Klips ProMedia 5.1's and they don't use component audio hook-ups like I see on the VGA cable. I'm also running a SB Audigy 2 sound card.
Anyone have any advice on making this hook-up work?

If you purchase the HD VGA cable for your xbox 360 it comes with a gender changer that will change the 2 rca plugs into a mini jack [headphone jack]. If you lost it or didnt get one with the cable you bought, go to ratshack and buy this:

should work just fine. If it doesnt [ie: shitty audio quality] return it and buy something else.

Ok, very nice, and it fits my wallet just right. I had looked at Digital Receivers after posting by they are pricy. This seems like a good option, thanks.

Well to my suprise the XBox 360 VGA adapter came with a Y adapter for the component to stereo jack. The setup is sweet and works well.

I have the same setup as you to the letter. Go to this page , and follow the instructions to get rid of the washed out picture through VGA. It seriously made everything look 100% better , give it a shot.
