I just upgrade my 3200+ to X2 4200+ on my vista machine and performance information says:

Number of processor cores 1 ?? WTF is ths normal?

I ran CPUID and it recognized it as X2 4200+ but vista recognized it as unknow cpu.

I am using the Gigabyte K8N Ultra-9 mobo with 1 gig ram.

Thanks in advance :)

dont know about vista but does system manager under computer say uniprocessor or something? you might need to redo the HAL

he prob updated the bios - I have that same mobo and for awhile windows only say 1 core when I got my opty 170 bc there was no bios for it for about 3 weeks.

He just didnt do the first thing you are supposed to do when you get a new chip
