WTB/TF 12-16gb DDR3

FOUND!! Thanks, [H]!

I need either 12gb or 16gb DDR3. It's for a build for my father for Christmas (he's not on here)... he's a graphic artist and not a gamer, so KVR type stuff is fine here. Basically if Memtest likes it, I like it.

I can pay $60 Paypal, or I can trade the laptop that's in my FS thread. If you offer me 16gb for the laptop, I'll cover my end of the shipping. I'd prefer not to trade the laptop for 12gb unless there's additional cash involved (ie laptop+cash for the RAM), and I'll probably ask you to pay shipping both ways as part of that.

I have 3x4 GB of DDR3 for $60. It is of the unregistered ECC type though.
 
So close and yet so far -- the motherboard in question (MAXIMUS V GENE) won't take ECC :(

Are you sure? As long as it isn't registered ECC is usually ok on most intel boards. And just because you read somewhere that it won't work, take that with a grain of salt. Worst case, work it out with the seller that you try it.
 
Manufacturer (ASUS) says non-ECC only.

Let me make sure I have the money on hand and I'll see if Kelvarr and I can work things out.

EDIT: may have the RAM from someone else. We'll see.
