WTB Motherboard/CPU combo

i'm a newbie here and was referred here by a friend. my computer just crapped out and i'm in need of a motherboard/CPU combo. i'm not looking for anything to expensive but something around 1.7 mhz or higher. kinda want to go with p4 but amd will do.

not that i know of. i actually have 3 cpu's

amd xp1800, 2500 bartons, 2600

tired all but none worked on my board. called ASUS and they think its the board thats broken.

oh i had the ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard
