Hi All,

I have a PowerMac G4 that uses IDE hard drives and the current drive I have in there is a 60GB Western Digital labelled from 2003. It is starting to give me hangups and throw smart errors.

Fortunately, this is a PC that is up at my cabin which gets turned on MAYBE 5 times a year and at MAX for a couple of hours each time.

I am looking for a hard drive to make it last another 5+ years. All I do is pull up Word docs and the radar on it. Not looking to break the bank here.

Let me know what you have! Shipped price to 15237 please.

I think I have a 40GB WD IDE you can have for $15 shipped via Amazon payments.

I'm probably looking for something a little bigger. What is the manufacturing date on that one?

I know I'm not going to get brand spanking new, but I don't want to buy one that is 10+ years old either.

Bump.

80 gig Maxtor ATA 133 Diamond Max 9, 30.7 WD, 200 Gig Maxtor ATA 133 Diamond Max 10. The Diamond Max 10 was a very quick ATA drive.
Also have a spare 30 gig lappy drive.
Glad to test these HDs came out of my "Known working" stock pile.
