I finally decided to give in and buy a fan controller, can be either 3.5" (one slot) or 5.25" (preferred one slot, will still listen to offers on multiple slot ones though). It MUST have knobs for control, flip switches don't help! I know some have low med and high settings, those are fine. LCD controllers are cool too!
