Thanks so much for sending those. Unfortunately it's an AM4 bracket.

Some older coolers like cooler master hyper 212 evo come with their own backplate that are am3 compatible

Yes that's what i'm using now but need the backplate to use Noctua coolers

I might have one from my bulldozer pc, I took it out to put in a Hyper 212..... but that was like 10 years ago, do I still have the old one... I'll look

arent all the oem back plates the same? or is there something special about this asus one? i have one from a GB 970xa board, not sure how much it would be so send out your way over the border though...

They're $6.99 shipped on ebay from the US or $5.18 from China. It's going to cost someone at least $3.8x to $4.1x to ship one without the cost of any shipping supplies.

Type the numbers into the ebay search.

Honestly if you're looking for basic computing and don't need to be able to play newer games out of this you'd be better off selling the motherboard, any other related components, and just buying a super cheap OEM system. This is $75 for an entire system that sips power. https://www.ebay.com/itm/126184303491 . Investing any money into anything this old just doesn't seem like the best option when there's way newer stuff out there that could be a monetary wash when you sell the existing components.
