WinXP Home SP2: how do I remove this from the start menu?

I've removed some stuff from the start menu and now the bar with "windows xp home edition" is strange. Can I remove that black bar somehow? See the picture for example.

you need to add more items back into your start menu, because the graphic that's supposed to appear is too large for it to fit into its location.

or you can always change the start menu icons to small and you will not have that bar at all.
 
Right click on start, choose properties. Select start menu tab. You'll see classic menu is selected. Click on 'customize' Scroll down and check 'show small icons in start menu'.OK out.
 
Thanks Chris, I knew it was something simple just couldn't remember what. :)
