OK my system is as follows....
Intel Core i7 950
ASUS Sabertooth X58 Motherboard
16GB RAM
120GB OCZ Agility 2
Windows 7 Ultimate

My Wife's system is as follows...
Core 2 Quad 6600
ASUS P5N-D Motherboard
8GB RAM
500GB Seagate 7200RPM drive
Windows 7 Ultimate

Both systems have the newest bios and both use the newest drivers and ACHI.
They both boot up at exactly the same speed. I have timed them and its within 1 second on boot times to the windows login screen. This is driving me crazy. Can someone help?

I will supply any stats or software/hardware you need to figure this out with me.

How are you timing it? From power button press to login screen or from when the windows logo shows up? How many peripherals are connected to each?

Your computer can be taking a lot longer to POST or to load device drivers. It should be significantly faster after you login while loading all the startup services, etc. though.

Yes, I was timing from button push to login screen. You are correct, from hitting the enter key after inputting passwords the SSD system is nearly instant where the mechanical system takes 5 to 10 seconds to become usable.

I guess I wasn't considering the fact the post and initial driver load might not have anything to do with my SSD.

Oh I yearn for a system that starts instantly when I push the power button. LOL

Thanks for the reply.
