When you say 'work', what do you mean exactly?

I think it's a great upgrade from your 3500... overall computing and multitasking will be much smoother for you. As for gaming, you should probably try to O/C it at least 200-300mhz because certain games seem to be CPU-limited with A64's under 2.4ghz.

Good chip though; it's actually what I got my dad for Christmas to upgrade his s939 3000+.

Yes it should work fine with it. Just make sure the bios is up to date.

Fastest 939 processors are the:
Opteron 185
FX-57

Both are DC and run at 2.8ghz with 1mb cache

FX-57 is single core, you are thinking of the FX-60 and they are both (FX-60 and opty 185) 2.6ghz with 1mb cache per core (2megs total).

You're right. It's the 60... my s939 knowledge is getting rusty.
