Well , the IT director at my work was fired last Friday so I'm taking over for the most part. I have a question , the old IT guy locked a lot of computers at work ( restricted access sort of thing). When I go to account users on my compter it only shows my account and it shows it in Guest mode. When I log into the Admin account it still does not show my account. Where would I look for my account so I can upgrade it to admin?

= Thanks

What about the lusrmgr.msc? Wouldn't it work if you went to that and made your account a "member of" the administrators?

Do you even have a domain? If you do, you don't need local accounts.

If you don't..... create an account

If you want to reset security settings run "security configuration and analysis" (run MMC, add-remove snapp-ins...)

Actually wouldn't it be better for you to just rename the old IT's guys account to you?

At least that way all the permissions and everything would be intact you wouldn't have to configure anything.

In my opinion renaming accounts is easier than deleting old ones and creating new ones.

Oh and change the password.
