wierd issue

here is the bottom line. SB6141 cable modem hooked to Win 7 laptop has internet. Hooked to Win 8.1 Pro desktop no internet. Hooked to Netgear wireless router no internet in router settings. Hooked to Vonage no internet flashing internet light. All was working prior to moving the Modem 10 feet after rearranging the office.

Power cycle the modem between swaps. The modem locks to the MAC address of whatever is plugged in. So turn the cable modem off for a few minutes then turn it back on and plug in your new device.

Have powered cycled many times for the last 6 hours.
All the original connections were back as they were. All I could think of is the modem got a firmware update upon starting back up.

I would do an ipconfig /flushdns on the computer's, disabling the network adapter and enabling.
