What do I replace the white TIM stuff with on my GPU?
Do I just use thermal compound? Or is this something different? Will the AS5 make contact with the heatsink, because this stuff looks thick, where as the AS5 is a very thin layer....

Thanks!!

Those are thermal pads. You can reuse them if you want or buy new ones, but you have to make sure and get the right thickness. If you get too thin, they won't touch, if you get too thick, they'll put too much pressure on the chips. If I were you, I'd just replace the TIM on the GPU with AS5 or whatever your preferred TIM is, then reuse the thermal pads.

The GPU will work with standard thermal paste, so you can replace it with AS5, MX-2, or whatever variety you prefer. The memory uses thermal pads, so you must either keep the stock ones the card came with, or purchase a new set with sufficient thickness to bridge the gap between the heatsink and the surfaces of the chips.
