While the [H] was down, I went through a bit of juggling of laptops.

when the [H] was last up:

M6805
Athlon64 3000+
768mb PC-2700
60gb 5400 rpm
DVD/CD-RW
etc.

X31
Pentium-M 1.4ghz
802.11ABG
768mb PC-2700
40gb 5400 rpm

Well, I sold the M6805.
I was going to go with the X31 w/ 1gb PC2700 (pull my 512 out of the M6805)

But, i missed gaming.

So I bought a T41P.
1.7ghz Pentium -M
1gb Pc2700 (pulled my 512 from the X31)
802.11ABG (pulled from X31; 802.11b would go in the X31)
60gb 7200rpm
CD-RW/DVD

Then, a week later, the T42P came out. Luckily, it was too expensive to be worth it.
Then, last week, I come across a Visa deal. This put the T42P at a smaller price than the T41P was.

So, I bought it, and am returning my T41P.

Here's the new spec sheet for my laptops.

T42P
1.8ghz Pentium -M 745 (Dothan)
1gb PC2700
802.11ABG
60gb 7200rpm (buying this from mwave)
80gb 5400rpm (standard in the T42P I got; it's going in the ultrabay)
DVD-RW
15" UXGA LCD
Mobility FireGL T2 (128mb)
Blue Tooth
(for work & play)

X31
1.4ghz Pentium -M (Banias)
512mb PC2700
802.11ABG
40gb 5400 rpm
DVD-ROM (external)
12.1" XGA LCD
Mobility Radeon (16mb)
(for school)

And between the two, I have an external USB floppy, external USB/firewire DVD+-RW.

So, generally speaking, the T42P will be used for most of what I'm doing...the X31 will be used at school, and at home for running torrents and other large file downloads (UT2004 Community Bonus Pack 2, Linux ISOs, etc.)

not bad, not bad at all.

Pics tonight of all 3!

nice lappies. Wish I had that kinda money to spend. I've been wanting to have 2 laptops just like you have - 1 for school (ultraportable) and the other for gaming / general use (~6 lb. lappy with widescreen)

paritally.

originally, I just didn't use it the way I should use a powerhouse laptop
I was going to just live happily on the X31

but by the time I'd sold the M6805, i missed the gaming capability...and decided to sell the X31 and get a T41P (best of both worlds).

well...I've not found a buyer for the X31...
