Ive got a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S149 that has recently ran into some problems. Basically it wont stay on for more than a few seconds, like there is a grounding issue. Ive re-sodered the AC connector. I figure it would be cheaper to just put in a new mobo instead of take it to a shop and get charged for them to tell me what I already know.

So does anyone have any idea where I can buy just the mobo? Google turns up nothing and ebay only has coupons for repairs.

Either that or cheap barebones skt479 DDR1 laptop.

Parts I have are:

Celeron D 1.5
Pentium M 1.66
512MB DDR333
DVD/CD Combo
60GB IDE

did you call toshiba and ask them how much it costs for the part?

you could try to check the buy or sell section of forums, look for people who are parting out their laptops

At this point maybe you should consider selling it on ebay for parts, or parting it out, and using the money you get for it to put towards a new/newer laptop.

Or not, just a thought.

I was going to mention ebay, if the mobo isn't there, it might be hard to find.
