IMO it's too late for high pricing used cards ... Newegg has in stock EVGA GTX 1060 6GB twin fan gaming card for $300 shipped.ETH is done, I would get rid of your mining rigs while the cards are still expensive.

1070 FTW? Maybe $400 (shipped) right now for those who can't wait a month or two before buying ...
The education must start now that under no circumstances should you knowingly buy a card that has been used for mining.
There is going to be a ton of them for sale in 9-12 months and they aren't going to be worth a shit.
People are going to lie to sell them as well.
I am now going to also prognosticate the collapse of the used GPU market as well. As it should.
I built a 6x GTX 1060 rig for mining Ethereum and it seems like a bust. I've made $200 so far, but at the current rate I'll only be bringing in $250/month, which barely covers electricity (forget recouping the cost of the rig).
Since I already spent the money, I'll probably just let it run and see what happens (or maybe switch to another currency if something else pops up) but right now it's not looking profitable.
eth is not done lol. even at current price making 1500 a month in profit. I am not selling my coins off, I'll keep mining and hold. I am certain in a few years you are looking at eth and bitcoin being equals. Bitcoin is taking shit right now so its hurting other currencies, when eth is more stable tech and advances are made, and it finally moves to POS. The coins will only grow in value.ETH is done, I would get rid of your mining rigs while the cards are still expensive.
The calculators said it would be around $200/month (it's expensive in California) and my bill was around $40 extra last month (I only had the rig running for a week). I also have the GPUs heavily overclocked and my AC is running 24/7 to keep things cool.wait a rig with 6 gtx 1060s is costing you almost as much as you make in electricity? Where do you live? Rig with gtx 1060s can be used to tweak the power to around 500 watts and should cost about 40 bucks a month on average in power.

nah it could be 40 bucks a month extra.
My rigs 1070's cost around 50 bucks a month on power that is without the AC on, I would say with AC on each rig will be around 75 bucks a months.
My 580 rigs are around 65 bucks a month
He said his total bill was $40extra When he had the computer on for a week. AC will blow up your bill. AC is the biggest culprit here. You turn that on 24/7 your bill is going to skyrocket You can tweak the 1060s to run around 500w or even less. I don't think it's $40 a week. For a month yea but $40 for week is exessive.
He said his bill was $40 extra and he only had the computer on for a week. The computer didn't cause the extra $40 it's the AC. And in summer you have no choice but to have the sucker on in cali lol.
Well that is the thing, most likely the power company just did an estimate for the increased power consumption, they didn't do a meter reading. So later on when they do the meter reading they will even that out.
well its been about a month since the down ward slide of Eth, and even used rx 580 and 1070 are still going for MSRP. That means the trend is only do speculation or fear for the drop, nothing to do with miners stopping to mine.
There are always lulls in markets like these but as long as people are still mining that means the price will go back up.
Bitcoin drop in the recent month affected the entire market too. Its down under 2k.
Excatly, Bitcoin SegWit update is making people panic and the news about don't send coins after july 31st until next update is scaring them on top lol. Look at bitcoin price down over 1k. Its just like stock market when bigger currencies are down it will effect others. With crypto its the same. I expect eth to be in the 200 range again in the few months.
I don't even think it will take that long, 1 month should be back above 200.
you know it amazes me that people think miners got all GPUs. Big farms probably, but for us who are mining at home like 4-5 rigs are blamed for it as well. I had to work just as hard as anyone of you to get my GPUs. I just think that you didn't try hard enough. Everyone of my GPU is bought retail, newegg, bestbuy, or here on this forum. So to say you don't have a card because of me its bullshit. You didn't try hard enough.
Well I found out a way of getting GPU anytime I want to lol but large quantities 30+ cards at a time preferably 60 cards at a time, but the distributor I'm dealing with is a friend of a friend so he was nice to me, so yeah its partly our fault too. The thing is when I order them I have to wait one month to get them. Which is ok. Just hate the wait time.
Its all your fault. I had to dig these cards from their graves and bring them back to life. Thats how it felt atleast! All your fault razor1 for ordering all those cards.
And don't worry they will be loving you too when you give them a good deal on the ones you get rid of.
Oh and another thing.
I'm gonna be all over you dirty miners like stink on shit in the for sale or trade forums, ebay, wherever I can find you, and I'm gonna be asking....
Was this a miner card?
Was this card used for mining?
You mean you are going to be asking if a card was used under its TDP and underclocked, vs being overclocked and overvolted while gaming?
You mean you are going to be asking if a card was used under its TDP and underclocked, vs being overclocked and overvolted while gaming?
You see people.
This is what I'm talking about.
With this statement, the miner is making the assertion that because the card is undervolted that it is somehow less used than 24/7 for the time it was used.
That the voltage regs don't have 24/7 time on them, that the fans don't have 24/7 time on them... It's all LIES... There is more and it is coming it out every day.
When we can take a GPU and drop it into an unused card, then undervolting will matter. Until them. It's all a bunch of BULLSHIT. Undervolting and underclocking are only nice to the chip.
GPU manufacturers don't care about overclocking for a gamin session, hell, they even write programs to help you do it. But start listening to what they are saying about miner cards.
People, please understand that a portion of the dirty miners profit comes at the expensive of the uninformed who are duped by miner lies.
If they have to throw these things in the trash, mining doesn't look as good. Think about it and ask the question...
Whoah.
Hold on there cowboy.
You want to have your cake and eat it to and I think THAT is bullshit.
You are the one who is full of shit if you think now that the cat is out of the bag on just how much these cards ARE actually damaged from being run 24/7 no matter how undervolted they are that you can get away with your lies.
I will continue to say and do everything I can to keep you dirty miners out of the gpu food chain.
YOU sir are full of shit and need to shut the fuck up.
Oh and another thing.
