Actually it is real easy to remove. Take a knife on the bottom end of the enclosure and just pop it up and the bottom comes off exposing the drive.

Takes about 30 seconds to pull the bottom off.

However I would not expect the internal drive to be a Caviar Black. It may be but I would not expect that.

that is not entirely true. I had two of the 2tb Essentials and both had the FASS 2tb Caviar Blacks in them.
