Good morning everyone,

I've had a weird power on issue with my current PC that's been happening since I built it two years ago, I believe system board is an Asus z97a, I've tried stock bios settings and messing with them and get the same results, so I'm thinking maybe it's a hardware or wiring issue, symptoms are as follows, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  1. Hit power button, fan briefly turns on then shuts off, blinking red light on system board, nothing on display
  2. Hold down power button for 5 seconds until it shuts off
  3. Hit power button again, fan stays on, display comes on, everything works fine and system is stable.

Yeah hi. Does this occur on the first boot after it's been off for a while?
Have you observed this after shutting it down and powering it on again after a minute?

If the system is otherwise always stable even during prolonged (like - a day) stress testing, then it's probably a RAM settings detection thing. Do you have an XMP profile enabled? Latest bios image?
