Weird computer problem

Ok so I just recently moved. So I got my comps all set up and they were working fine for a while then all of the sudden one of them started having a weird problem. It randomly hits the alt button or something. It shows the menu as if you were to hit the alt button. Problem is, if I detach my keyboard and restart the computer it still has the same problem. Has anyone heard of this or know how I should go about fixing it? I know I just recently installed some updates that were on the auto update thing. I am running XP pro SP2 on that computer.

When you say alt what do you mean? Does it open random menu boxes anywhere on the screen? Or does it only open the menus at the top of a window?
