Offering a portable, PC-free solution for burning photos directly from digital still cameras to mini CD-R, Sony introduces Photo Vault™ Mini CD-R Station.

Weighing only 8 ounces, Photo Vault Mini CD-R Station adds convenience and flexibility to digital photography storage. Users can burn images directly from their camera to 8 cm mini CD-R using the Photo Vault device's standard USB interface

Each 200 MB mini CD-R disc holds between about 50 to 200 digital images, depending on image resolution

It had better be pretty bulletproof though
or there will be some rather upset customers

"I got back from Europe and none of my photos came out!!!!!!"

now it just needs an LCD screen to preview the photos with
(or an interface back to the cameras LCD) :D

I hope that will work with my Olympus E20N
:p

thats just the thing
HDDs can have head crashes
an optical however...

possibly more robust
but I wont be an early adopter of either :p

my E20N will take a Microdrive which when its all said and done is probably the most robust HDD out there (do to scale\flex) but still head crashes are an issue (and capacity of course, but they are pushing 4GB)
