So I am pretty new to OCing.. and I have an older system with this intel motherboard:

http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/D945Gccr/index.htm

And an E2180.. and just to mess around I want to do the BSEL mod from 800 to 1066 FSB...

But from what I am reading, is my Motherboard not capable of accepting this OC mod? What will happen if I do?

I was reading about it here...
http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/341123-intel-bsel-vid-mod-guide.html

So in short:
If I want to OC this (with any method) E2180 and Intel D945GCCR, what do I need to do if anything? Or do I need to buy new mobo?

Basically: The intel website says the 945G chip supports 1066 FSB. Is there any reason why the D945GCCR Intel Motherboard cannot support 1066 FSB? It says on the website it only supports 800. Is this just old information or is there something holding it back?

It's possible the board isn't designed to run at 266MHz FSB, or its BIOS doesn't accept 1066MHz CPUs. I would try doing the BSEL mod anyways and see if it works. If not, the worst that'll happen is the PC won't turn on or it'll crash while you're using it, in which case you could just remove the mod and run it at its normal speed again.

How easy is it to clean off the conductive pen? Or should I use another conductive material?

Try using the pen on another surface and see if it's easy to remove.
