is this crazy or what?

I have xp on sata drive 1
installed vista on sata drive 2

now if i boot my computer up WITHOUT a bootable cd in the drive, I get "BOOTMGR not found"

but if I have a bootable cd in the drive (and don't hit any keys to run it) then the BOOTMGR runs correctly

I have tried reinstalling the bootmgr from easybcd from my xp drive with no luck and this is driving me crazy! Anyone have any ideas?

when dual booting xp and vista, you have to use vistas boot mananger. xp's will not work. i dual boot xp and vista fine. try a repair install on vista.
